Eight Best Ball Fantasy Football Players To Target For 2025

Caleb Williams - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Mike's eight top players to target for 2025 best ball fantasy football leagues. His top player targets to add for best ball leagues for 2025 fantasy football.

Fantasy football is an evolving game. While dynasty is the most popular year-round form of fantasy football, best ball leagues are gaining ground.

The best part of best ball leagues is the ability to draft a million teams and not have to manage them during the season. It allows fantasy players to scratch the offseason fantasy itch without adding to their in-season workload.

Let’s look at eight players I am targeting in best ball drafts this offseason.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Best Ball Quarterback Targets

Jayden Daniels – Washington Commanders

Daniels is coming off a massive rookie season. The former LSU star finished the year as the QB5, averaging 20.9 fantasy points per game despite leaving two contests early. He broke Robert Griffin III’s rushing record by a rookie quarterback, totaling 891 yards. More importantly, Daniels had six rushing touchdowns, which was the second-most on the team.

The superstar rookie is more than just a runner. After totaling 0.9 passing touchdowns over the first 11 weeks, Daniels finished the year on fire. He averaged three passing touchdowns over his final five meaningful starts, including a career-high five against the Philadelphia Eagles in a critical Week 16 win. Daniels should be even better in 2025 after the Commanders traded for Deebo Samuel Sr. and Laremy Tunsil.

Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears

Williams had high expectations as a rookie. Unfortunately, he fell short of them because of the coaching staff and offensive line. Yet, the former USC star finished as a solid QB2 option for fantasy players, ending the year as the QB16 and averaging 15 fantasy points per game. More importantly, Williams flashed superstar upside.

While he had nine games with fewer than 11.5 fantasy points as a rookie, Williams had four performances with over 22.7 fantasy points. The rookie had two games with three or more passing touchdowns, including one against the Detroit Lions in Week 13. Fantasy players should expect Williams to have a sophomore-year breakout under new head coach Ben Johnson, especially after the Bears improved their offensive line.

Best Ball Running Back Targets

Kyren Williams – Los Angeles Rams

Williams has been one of the more reliable running backs in fantasy football since taking over as the starter in 2023. The former Notre Dame star has finished as an RB1 every season of his career as the team’s starting running back. Last year, the superstar finished as the RB7, averaging 15.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game despite the addition of Blake Corum.

Many were worried that the rookie running back would cut into Williams’s role, especially around the goal line. Yet, Corum had zero touchdowns as a rookie, totaling more than five rushing attempts in only three contests. By comparison, Williams had 16 offensive touchdowns, scoring at least once in 75% of the games. Fantasy players should expect another massive performance from the superstar in 2025.

Kenneth Walker III – Seattle Seahawks

Walker has always been one of my favorite running backs in the NFL. While he has struggled with injuries in his career, the star running back is an explosive playmaker who can take any touch to the house. Last year, Walker was the RB28, averaging 13.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, he missed a career-high six games because of multiple injuries.

However, the former Michigan State star ended the year as the RB18 on a points-per-game basis. More importantly, Walker had 46 receptions on 53 targets for 299 receiving yards despite missing over a third of the season, setting career highs in every category. Expect him to be even more involved in the passing game after the Seahawks hired Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator earlier this offseason.

Best Ball Wide Receiver Targets

Drake London – Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy players finally saw London play at a high level after the Falcons fixed their quarterback situation last offseason. While Kirk Cousins got benched and was far from the best quarterback in the league, the veteran helped make London an elite fantasy wide receiver. The former USC star ended last year as the WR5, averaging 13.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

More importantly, London was outstanding with Michael Penix Jr. under center. He was the WR1 over the three weeks the rookie quarterback started, averaging 7.3 receptions on 13 targets for 117.3 receiving yards and 19.4 fantasy points per game, totaling two touchdowns. Furthermore, London saw a 39% target share with Penix starting.

Garrett Wilson – New York Jets

While Aaron Rodgers was far from an elite quarterback last season, the future Hall of Famer was productive enough to make Wilson a top-12 wide receiver. The former Ohio State star finished as the WR11 in 2024, averaging 11.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he set career highs in several receiving categories.

Last season, Wilson had 101 receptions on 154 targets for 1,104 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, setting career highs in every category but targets. The Jets moved on from Rodgers and Davante Adams this offseason. More importantly, Wilson has been a productive fantasy wide receiver with anyone but Zach Wilson under center. He should play well alongside his former college quarterback, Justin Fields.

Best Ball Tight End Targets

Brock Bowers – Las Vegas Raiders

Fantasy players had low expectations for Bowers as a rookie. While everyone loved him as a college prospect, many had concerns about his situation. The Raiders had a below-average quarterback room and a crowded wide receiver unit. However, Adams got traded early in the year, while Gardner Minshew II and Aidan O'Connell were productive enough.

After totaling 8.8 or fewer half-point PPR fantasy points per game in three of his first four games, Bowers became a fantasy superstar. He finished the season as the TE1, averaging 12.2 fantasy points per game. More importantly, Bowers got a massive upgrade at quarterback this offseason after Las Vegas traded for Geno Smith. Don’t be surprised if he repeats as TE1 in 2025.

Tyler Warren – Penn State

Tight ends typically struggle to have fantasy value as rookies. However, that has changed over the past few years. A rookie has finished as the TE1 in half-point PPR scoring in back-to-back seasons. While it is a long shot, don’t be surprised if Warren pushes the streak to three consecutive years.

Last season, the former Penn State star was the best tight end in college football. Warren had 104 receptions for 1,233 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Furthermore, he has Taysom Hill-like run game qualities, totaling 26 rushing attempts for 218 yards and four touchdowns last season.
