New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes (undisclosed) was forced to an early exit in Sunday's matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. He was injured in the third period when he crashed into the boards following a collision with Vegas forward Jach Eichel. "Real hard to see him go down. There's no update," Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe said postgame. "He's going to have to be evaluated. Obviously, it didn't look good. We're going to have to take our time to know the full extent of it." Hughes was on a five-game point streak before going scoreless in Sunday's 2-0 loss. Through 62 games, he tops the Devils in goals (27) and points (70). Erik Haula could get a top-six job if Hughes has to miss additional time. The team will return to action on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.--Taavi Pailk
