The Philadelphia Eagles had a disappointing 2023 season. After making it to the Super Bowl the year before, the Eagles were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. However, they rebounded this season.

Philadelphia won the NFC East division, finishing the regular season with a 14-3 record. They had two losses heading into their Week 5 bye, losing to the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the Eagles won 12 of their final 13 regular season games.

Their lone loss over the final 13 weeks of the regular season was to the Washington Commanders in Week 16, losing 36-33. However, the Eagles lost Jalen Hurts to a concussion early in the game. After defeating the division rivals in the NFC Championship Game, can Philadelphia bring home their second Lombardi Trophy in the past seven years?

Why The Philadelphia Eagles Can Win Super Bowl LIX

While the Eagles have won their three playoff games by 50 points, Hurts and the passing attack have struggled. Last week, Philadelphia defeated Washington 55-23, scoring eight touchdowns in the blowout victory. However, only one of those touchdowns was a passing score.

The Eagles had seven rushing touchdowns in the win over the Commanders. Saquon Barkley has been on fire during the playoffs. Last week, he had three rushing scores in the NFC Championship Game, including the first of the contest.

Meanwhile, Hurts had 10 rushing attempts for 16 yards last week. Yet, he also had three rushing touchdowns against the division rivals. Will Shipley got in on the action late, scoring the final touchdown in the game.

After destroying the Commanders, the Eagles must have similar success on offense to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The run game has become the team’s identity on offense. Barkley must have a massive performance for the Eagles to come home with the Lombardi Trophy.
