NFL Survivor Pool Picks: Week 11 Targets and Avoids (2024)

Amon-Ra St. Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

The top NFL survivor pool picks for Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season. Kevin's weekly survivor league pool targets and avoids -- expert picks for survivor leagues.

Welcome to our NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season! There are so many different pools, fantasy leagues, weekly bets, and futures bets that it's hard to decide what to do with these choices. But survivor pools are the oldest and simplest leagues out there. All you have to do is pick a team and have it win, but you can't choose it again.

All season long, I'll bring you weekly survivor pool advice for NFL teams to target and teams to avoid each week. Survivor league strategy is a major part of winning your pools, and this article will help you through the 2024 NFL season. We're ready to preview Week 11 and get you through the early season weeks.

We're in the thick of the bye-week season, so the Survivor picks get tougher and tougher by the week. We have a quartet of teams on bye weeks with the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking a break from game action this week. Let's look at some teams to target and avoid for survivor pools in Week 11.

Editors Note: RotoBaller's NEW Survivor Grid Tool provides an easy-to-use color-coded interface with each team's full schedule, including Vegas spreads. Plan your picks, create multiple entries, and save your progress. Click here to use the Survivor Grid today.

Before jumping into the picks for Week 11, it's helpful to get an overview of the slate with implied point totals, point spreads, and over/under totals from betting markets. All implied totals come courtesy of FantasyLabs each week.

Week 11 Survivor

Now, let's look at the survivor pool pick recommendations to target and avoid for Week 11.

Top Survivor Pool Picks to Target for Week 11

Detroit Lions vs. JAX

The Detroit Lions host the Jacksonville Jaguars and it feels like one of the biggest layups we've had all season. Not one team this season has crested the 30-point implied point total until this week with the Lions.

They're a whopping 13.5-point home favorite against the hapless Jaguars, who will trot out Mac Jones like a sheep being led to the wolves. Just think: it could have a much wider spread had Jared Goff not thrown FIVE interceptions in their Sunday Night Football game against the Texans.

Again, this is the layup of layups. In basketball terms, a fast break with nobody chasing after. The Lions are good and can beat teams in several ways. The Jaguars are bad and can beat teams in virtually zero ways with Jones at quarterback, who won't be able to take advantage of the ONE deficiency the Lions have: their pass defense, which is below average. If you need a win, this is your free square.

Miami Dolphins vs. LV

The Miami Dolphins have come out of the dark ages that plagued them when they were without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and will get the incoming Las Vegas Raiders.

The Dolphins are 7.5-point favorites at home and are looking much better on offense, but their defense has been the story lately with a season-high four sacks. With Gardner Minshew II coming in, Miami should tee off and then score with ease on offense.

While Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers have been excellent for the Raiders, can Minshew even get the ball to them? The Raiders have one of the lower implied point totals with 18.25 points against the Dolphins this week. They are scaring absolutely nobody with their run game, their defense, and frankly, a head coach in Antonio Pierce who could be on the chopping block sooner rather than later.

If you've used the Detroit Lions in your Survivor pool, it makes a ton of sense to take the Dolphins this week against the Raiders. We don't have the benefit of taking the team playing the Carolina Panthers as they're on bye, but the Raiders aren't so bad of a consolation prize.

Top Survivor Pool Picks to Avoid for Week 11

Baltimore Ravens at PIT

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the best offenses in the NFL, but some of that does get tossed out the window as they will travel to Acrisure Stadium to take on their hated rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers are home underdogs in this game, giving up 3.0 points to the incoming Ravens. While the Ravens have been awesome to watch and their offense is lighting the world on fire, their pass defense has been atrocious, and were a successful two-point conversion away from losing at home to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football.

On the Steelers' side, they've been playing much better with Russell Wilson installed at quarterback. Especially in the passing game, where he's been able to use his patented deep ball and growing rapport with George Pickens to help move the ball and become a solid threat that teams need to recognize.

While taking one of the better teams in the league in Baltimore is usually a good bet, against a rival on the road with the Steelers having some momentum is not a spot I want to push my chips in for. I'm steering clear of the Ravens this week and picking a better spot.

New York Jets vs. IND

The New York Jets are one of the most polarizing teams in the league and they get the benefit of playing what could be their polarizing equal as the Jets will host the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jets are 4.0-point favorites against Indianapolis, which will flip-flop quarterbacks yet again, starting Anthony Richardson and demoting Joe Flacco to backup. With Richardson, the ceiling gets much higher for the Colts, but just as easily as they could ride high on the efficiency train, they could just bottom out. Has Richardson learned anything from Flacco since his benching a short time ago?

The Jets are certainly not without flaws; they lost the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10, 31-6, and Aaron Rodgers looked worse than he ever has in an NFL uniform. We know the rapport he has with his longtime teammate Davante Adams, and with Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson also in tow, the Jets should have the edge here in talent. But don't count out the Jets' ability to bottom out as well.

If you're asking me to try to pick one team in this game where both teams could either have a high-flying shootout or a 9-6 game with a bunch of turnovers, you're wild. I'm not touching this game if I can help it, and resting your Survivor pool hopes on this game to keep your streak going is foolhardy.
