Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Top Fantasy Football WR Adds for Week 7 Include Josh Downs, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Bub Means, Christian Watson

JuJu Smith-Schuster - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers NFL Injury News

Justin Carter's fantasy football WR waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season. His free agent wide receivers to add, stream, and stash off waivers.

Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season is almost behind us. It was an exciting week of football, and it saw the Buccaneers drop 51 on the Saints. Chris Godwin had a big night, catching 11 passes for 125 yards and two scores. Godwin isn't on our Week 7 wide receiver fantasy football waiver wire pickups list since he's basically rostered everywhere, but another name from that game will be.

Below, you'll find some wide receivers that you should be targeting on the fantasy football waiver wire ahead of Week 7. Not all of these waiver wire options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Be sure to also check out our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 7 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list are around 50% rostered or below.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City Chiefs - 31% rostered

The Chiefs won't have Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice again this season. KC may look to fill its No. 1 receiver role via trade, but if they don't then it might go to JuJu Smith-Schuster by default.

KC was on a bye this week, but in Week 5, Smith-Schuster was targeted eight times, catching seven passes for 130 yards. Rookie Xavier Worthy might be more electrifying than Smith-Schuster, but he's still figuring out how to consistently impact the game.

For now, Smith-Schuster is the No. 1 receiver for the Chiefs. Being Patrick Mahomes's top wideout is a pretty good role for fantasy purposes.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts - 48% rostered

For much of the week, Michael Pittman Jr. looked doubtful, but he surprisingly suited up and caught a touchdown against the Titans. It was Josh Downs who operated as the No. 1 receiver, as the second-year wideout was targeted nine times, catching seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.

This makes three games in a row with at least nine targets, seven catches, and 60 yards. He's developing a very high floor and has found the end zone twice this year, showcasing his upside.

Gabe Davis, Jacksonville Jaguars - 17% rostered

It was a pretty awful showing for the Jags this week as the team lost 35-16 in the London game against the Bears. It was an especially bad outing from rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who looked out of sorts at times.

Gabe Davis, though, had a strong game, catching a pair of touchdown passes in the loss. He had two other potential touchdowns hit his hands.

On one hand, you'd like a player to actually catch his targets. On the other hand, the volume at which Trevor Lawrence looked to connect with Davis in the end zone should 100% pique your interest.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers - 35% rostered

Romeo Doubs was suspended in Week 5 for conduct detrimental to the team and it looked like his time with the Packers could be coming to a close. In Week 6, he caught a pair of touchdowns. The NFL can be weird sometimes, can't it?

This Packers passing attack has been one of the most fun to watch in the NFL this season. While Doubs won't see double-digit targets due to the nature of how the Packers spread the ball around, he possesses touchdown upside each week, making him a high-ceiling option.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers - 41% rostered

While we're on the subject of the Packers, let's talk about Christian Watson, who caught three of his four targets for 68 yards and a score against the Cardinals.

It's been a rough year for Watson as he's been banged up and has missed two games, but he has big-play ability and showcased it on his 44-yard touchdown catch. He has just as much upside as Doubs, but I'd value Doubs a tiny bit more because Doubs has a higher floor and comes with fewer injury concerns.

Deeper Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 7

Demario Douglas, New England Patriots - 7% rostered

The Patriots made a quarterback switch this week, inserting rookie Drake Maye at the position. It's probably not a coincidence that Demario Douglas had his best game of the year with Maye under center, catching six of his nine passes for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Douglas has been targeted 18 times in the past two games, pulling down 12 receptions over that span. I'm not sure how heavily to trust this Patriots offense yet, but Douglas has emerged as the No. 1 option for the team. Even in a bad offense, the No. 1 option has some upside.

Bub Means, New Orleans Saints - 0% rostered

Chris Olave left Sunday's game early with a concussion. With Olave sidelined, rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler found comfort from an unfamiliar source: Bub Means.

If you don't know who that is, you're forgiven. Means is a rookie who had college stops in three different spots and entered Week 6 with zero receptions on one target.

Means tied Alvin Kamara for the team lead with eight targets, catching five of those for 45 yards and a touchdown. If it hadn't been for Rattler making the start, I probably wouldn't care here, but the rookie-to-rookie connection has my attention, especially if Olave misses time.

Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens - 11% rostered

Rashod Bateman has a permanent spot in this section at this point. He doesn't have over four receptions in any game this season, but he makes the most of the opportunities that he gets.

Take Week 6, for example. Bateman was only targeted four times, but he managed to bring them all in for a season-high 71 yards. He has 50 yards or a touchdown in four of the six games thus far.

Bateman won't win you a week, but if you're dealing with bye-week issues, he's definitely an option, especially with the Buccaneers on deck next week.

Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers - 19% rostered

Xavier Legette had a huge game in Week 4, but a shoulder injury prevented him from making an impact in Week 5. A healthy Legette found the end zone on Sunday in Carolina's 38-20 loss to the Falcons.

Legette has touchdown upside every week as the No. 2 receiver for Carolina, but his upside is capped by how reliant this offense is on Diontae Johnson. Still, he's a talented young wideout with a growing role.

Kayshon Boutte, New England Patriots - 0% rostered

This was Keyshon Boutte's best game, setting season highs in targets, catches, and yards while catching his first touchdown. Overall, he caught all three of his targets and finished with 59 yards.

Boutte is a talented player and I'm willing to take a flier on him, but I definitely am not ready to trust him as a fantasy starter yet. Grab him if you need a lotto ticket.
