2024 NFL QB Power Rankings: All 32 Starting Quarterbacks for Week 6

What a showing we had from quarterbacks in Week 5. Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson went toe to toe to combine for 740 yards passing and nine touchdown passes and they were not the only quarterbacks with huge outputs.

The needle is pointing up on quarterback play now that we have passed the quarter mark of the 2024 season. With so many players starting to play well, the rest of the NFL season could get very exciting.

Of course, there were still a handful of players who struggled in Week 5. As such, we must adjust them in the quarterback power rankings. Let's see where everyone sits as we head into Week 6.

1. Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Jackson gets to keep his hold on this spot after racking up 348 passing yards and four touchdowns in Week 5. While running back Derrick Henry was a huge part of this win, Jackson continues to play like the reigning MVP that he is.

2. Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals

Burrow threw for 392 yards and five touchdowns in a losing effort in Week 5. His unfortunate interception late in the game squandered the Bengals' chance to win. Still, his needle is pointing up even as the Bengals sit at 1-4.

3. Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes finally threw for over 300 yards in a game; however, he still did not throw a touchdown pass in Week 5. The Chiefs rode the running game to victory over the New Orleans Saints and now the defending champs sit at 5-0. This team feels reminiscent of the 2022 Chiefs, who did not figure things out until late in the season and had JuJu Smith-Schuster as their No. 1 wide receiver.

4. C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

Stroud had another big day in the yardage category, but his touchdown output remains low. He only threw for one touchdown in Week 5 and only has seven in five games. With top wide receiver Nico Collins nursing a hamstring injury, Stroud will need to step his game up.

5. Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

Allen was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league in Week 5. His 30 completion percentage on 30 attempts was abysmal. Even so, he had the Bills in a position to win toward the end of the game.

6. Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

Prescott led the Cowboys on a game-winning drive despite throwing two interceptions. Dallas wound up winning a hard-fought game against a Steelers defense that has been excellent all season. Next up, Prescott and the Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions.

7. Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mayfield threw for three touchdowns in Week 5 on his way to his third game accounting for three touchdowns in 2024. Although his performance came in a losing effort, Mayfield's play is not to blame.

8. Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

Purdy had been sneaky good all season but he had a tough outing against a poor Cardinals defense in Week 5. Purdy threw two interceptions in this game, including a game-icing interception with under two minutes to play. The 49ers now sit at 2-3 heading into a pivotal game with the Seattle Seahawks.

9. Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders

Daniels' stock continues to rise as he continues to torch opposing defenses. Daniels and the Commanders played so well against the Browns that there was a Marcus Mariota sighting at quarterback in this game. This kid just continues to get better and better.

10. Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts was on a bye in Week 5. He will look to get on track in Week 6 against a reeling Cleveland Browns team. With A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith likely back in Week 6, Hurts should fare much better than he did in Week 4.

11. Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

Goff and the Lions enjoyed an early season bye in Week 5. This team has plenty of momentum as it enters Week 6 at 3-1. It will face a Cowboys team that has been less than impressive thus far in 2024.

12. Geno Smith - Seattle Seahawks

Smith played well again in a game the Seahawks should have won. He threw for 284 yards and a touchdown. Smith's escape ability was on clear display as well as he galloped to 72 rushing yards. Even so, the Seahawks have now dropped two straight games and Smith will need to perform well in a huge Week 6 matchup against the division-rival 49ers.

13. Sam Darnold - Minnesota Vikings

Darnold came back down to earth in Week 5. The New York Jets defense traveled well across the pond to London and held Darnold to 179 passing yards and no touchdowns. Darnold will look to fix the issues the Jets exploited during the Vikings' bye in Week 6.

14. Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals

Murray got somewhat back on track in Week 5 after a couple of down weeks. He threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and added a 50-yard rushing touchdown as well. The NFC West is wide open and the Cardinals are squarely in the race.

15. Kirk Cousins - Atlanta Falcons

Cousins and the Falcons flew high above the competition in Week 5. The Falcons scored 36 points and Cousins threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns. It appears as though this offense has finally figured out how to find its playmakers and Cousins is hitting his stride coming off his Achilles injury.

16. Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers

Love was not excellent in Week 5 but he did enough to move himself up this list. Love has thrown for multiple touchdown passes in every game this season. He should start to fall into a rhythm as he gets more comfortable this season.

17. Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

This is starting to feel like a lost season for the 1-4 Rams. Stafford threw for 260 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Week 5. The Rams offense is going to continue to struggle without top wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

18. Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert enjoyed a much-needed bye in Week 5. He has been beat up this season, and will hopefully come out of the bye week feeling refreshed and somewhat healthy. Keep an eye on this team next week when it matches up with the Denver Broncos.

19. Aaron Rodgers - New York Jets

Rodgers looked washed up again in Week 5. The Jets brought him in so that he could go out and win them games, not actively sabotage their chances. Well, Rodgers' three interceptions in this game accomplished the latter, including one on a potential game-winning drive. With head coach Robert Saleh out, can Rodgers get back on track?

20. Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears

Williams had his second career game with over 300 passing yards in Week 5. He exploited a terrible Panthers defense all day. Williams' game should boost his confidence and propel him as the Bears continue to remain in the NFC North mix.

21. Daniel Jones - New York Giants

Jones has more or less looked worthy of his big contract this season. He went into Seattle and threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also bruised the Seahawks on the ground with 38 rushing yards. He was not afraid to put his shoulder down all game. The impressive performance has pushed Jones up this list this week.

22. Justin Fields - Pittsburgh Steelers

Fields and the Steelers are coming off two straight losses. Fields has not been bad in either game but he has not been stellar, either. Time will tell if Fields' grip on the starting job is starting to wane or not.

23. Andy Dalton - Carolina Panthers

Dalton came crashing back down to earth after his two-week heater. It was only a matter of time before defenses figured out Dalton's tendencies and exploited him. This game got so out of hand that Bryce Young saw some action again.

24. Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence looked like a $55 million man in Week 5. He led the Jaguars to their first victory of the season with 371 passing yards and two touchdown passes. His only bad play of the day was a forced throw into triple coverage that was intercepted. Lawrence will try to carry this momentum into Week 6 against a tough Bears defense.

25. Anthony Richardson - Indianapolis Colts

Richardson ultimately did not play in Week 5 but it sounds like he will be back in Week 6. Backup quarterback Joe Flacco was awesome filling in for Richardson with 359 passing yards and three touchdowns. Hopefully, Richardson learned a couple of things from the sideline.

26. Bo Nix - Denver Broncos

Nix was ok in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos are a surprising 3-2 and sit in second place in their division. Nix still has a lot to improve upon, but he was turnover-free in Week 5 and had his first multiple-touchdown pass game.

27. Gardner Minshew II - Las Vegas Raiders

Minshew was benched for the second time this season in favor of Aidan O'Connell. His grip on the starting position is likely to be up in the air moving forward. Luckily for Minshew, O'Connell did nothing to seize the starting job.

28. Will Levis - Tennessee Titans

Levis continues to have the backing of his coaching staff as long as he is healthy. This early season bye could serve as a great reset for a young quarterback who has flashed immense talent but has been marred by bad decision-making.

29. Tyler Huntley - Miami Dolphins

Huntley did not exactly play well in Week 5, but he was better than he was in Week 4. His play was also enough to get the Dolphins a win over the Patriots. Overall, the Dolphins offense did not look completely ineffective in Week 5, unlike the past couple of weeks.

30. Deshaun Watson - Cleveland Browns

Watson can finally be bumped down this list as quarterbacks behind him have begun to play better. Watson threw for less than 200 yards once again. He only averaged 4.5 yards per attempt as well. Watson's QBR of 8.5 in this game is also about as bad as it gets.

31. Jake Haener/Spencer Rattler - New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr is expected to miss multiple weeks with an oblique injury. Haener took over for Carr during Monday Night Football but reports out of New Orleans suggest that Rattler has a chance at the starting job. Both players are unproven but would be stepping into a solid starting situation.

32. Drake Maye - New England Patriots

The Drake Maye era in New England begins this weekend and one can only hope that it will be better than the era of their last first-round quarterback, Mac Jones. Maye is entering a terrible situation. The offensive line is terrible and there are no real weapons. Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett was sacked 17 times in five games. Good luck to Maye.
