When Is Mike Evans Coming Back - Fantasy Football Injury Return Update for Week 14 (2025)

Mike Evans, Baker Mayfield - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

When is Mike Evans coming back? Will Mike Evans play again this season? Read about Mike Evans's return date and injury updates for 2025 as of Week 14.

Mike Evans has been one of the most reliable players, regardless of position, since entering the NFL in 2014. Fantasy managers have been able to count on double-digit fantasy production with at least 13 games played per season.

Unfortunately, all that came to an end in 2025. Evans struggled with injuries early in the season and has been on the injured reserve since Week 7. At the time, there was hope that Evans would return for the end of the season. The veteran receiver had his practice window opened in Week 14, suggesting his return is imminent.

When is Mike Evans coming back? What can we expect from him in fantasy going forward? Read below to find out.

Mike Evans Injury Update for Fantasy Football

2025 has been a rough season for Mike Evans. First, the veteran receiver missed three games with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 3. He avoided injured reserve and returned to the field in Week 7.

Unfortunately, that return was short-lived. Evans landed awkwardly with a defender on a deep pass against the Detroit Lions, suffering a concussion and broken collarbone. This hit, unfortunately, resulted in a trip to the injured reserve.

Evans was expected to return at the very end of that season for the NFL playoffs, but is reportedly ahead of schedule and has been medically cleared to play football. The Buccaneers opened their 21-day return window, which allowed him to log a limited practice on Wednesday.

There is a chance that Evans can return for Week 14’s game, but a Week 15 return might be more likely. Either way, fantasy managers who were patient with Evans have a chance to be rewarded in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Mike Evans Fantasy Football Outlook

There aren’t many players who have been as reliable as Mike Evans since he entered the league in 2014. Evans entered the season with 11-straight 1,000-receiving yard seasons. The veteran receiver has had just one season with fewer than 15.0 fantasy points per game. He has just 140 receiving yards and 8.5 PPR points per game in his first four games this season.

In theory, Evans can still hit a 1,000-yard season if he returns in Week 14 and averages over 170 receiving yards per game. That seems very unlikely.

What Evans can provide for the offense is his typical big-play ability as a downfield and red zone threat. Evans was averaging 9.3 targets per game over the first three weeks before getting hurt and would have hit that number in Week 7 had he finished the game.

The Buccaneers’ passing attack still has rookie Emeka Egbuka and got Chris Godwin back from injury while Evans was away. Jalen McMillan is also close to returning to the field, which adds another target in the pass game.

Still, when healthy, Evans has proven consistently throughout his career that the Buccaneers’ passing attack flows through him. Even with a sensational rookie and the return of Godwin, there is no reason to believe that will change. Evans should be considered a low-end WR2 in fantasy for the rest of the season, with the ability to produce WR1 weeks if he finds the end zone.
