Jahmyr Gibbs fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Jahmyr Gibbs for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: Midrange RB1
ANALYSIS: Gibbs missed a portion of training camp after picking up a hamstring injury. This caused some concern among fantasy gamers, but Gibbs has said he feels good and is ready for the start of the year.
#Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs tells ESPN that he’s ready to go for Week 1. Said he feels about 98-100% after tweaking his hamstring during camp while running routes. “I’m good, just had a little tweak,” he said. Gibbs said he’s “more confident overall” entering Year 2.

The Lions take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. Los Angeles has a gaping hole in their defensive line after the retirement of Aaron Donald. Even with Donald playing last year, they were not super effective in defending the run. Per FTN Fantasy, Los Angeles only finished 20th in defensive rush DVOA. The Rams also have a new defensive coordinator after Raheem Morris’ departure, and it remains to be seen how the players adjust.
Gibbs is an explosive player and finished 11th in Next Gen Stats Rush Yards Over Expected Per Attempt. The Lions also have the best run-blocking matchup in Week 1 per Pro Football Focus. This could be a good spot for a potential blowup game.
Gibbs sounds healthy, and we’ve got a good opening draw. If you have Gibbs on your team, that means you used either a first or second-round pick on him. With that type of investment, you didn’t draft him to sit on your bench. Fire him up as we should see both these offenses light up the scoreboard.
