MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/29/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Rafael Devers - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Picks, Betting Picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on June 29, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The good news is that we have a full day of baseball in front of us. The bad news is that both sites chopped up these slates quite a bit. Thankfully, both elected to have the same main slate with eight games in the middle of the day. At least both sites can agree on an eight-game main slate. That's a good size.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, June 29, 2024, with the slate starting at 4:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Nola vs. MIA ($8.7K DraftKings; $10.6K FanDuel)

The price on FanDuel is slightly off-putting, but I consider Nola a bargain on DK. The Marlins have struck out a healthy 23.7% of the time against right-handed pitching in the last month. It's not much to write home about when they do make contact. The .125 ISO and 75 wRC+ in that span are in the bottom five of the league. Nola has really only had one bad start this season. This won't be the second one.

Max Fried vs. PIT ($8.8K DraftKings; $10K FanDuel)

There are a lot of great pitching options on the main slate today. We have to dig a little deeper to find advantages. The Pirates are looking a little better of late, but they are still striking out 26.3% of the time against left-handed pitching in the last month. That's in the bottom five in the majors. Fried's strikeout totals have dipped a little, but don't forget that he struck out 13 free-swinging Red Sox in his first June start.

Fried has faced the Yankees and Orioles as well this month -- two teams that have lit up lefties of late. He held them to a combined five runs in 11 innings. I expect a really good start from Fried today.

Justin Steele at MIL ($7.6K DraftKings; $9.6K FanDuel)

The game is not at Wrigley and the Brewers have struggled against lefties all season. They have a  pathetic .103 ISO against southpaws over the last month. They are making contact (only 19% strikeout rate), but it's not good contact. Steele dominated the Brewers on May 27, also in Milwaukee. He held them to just three hits in seven scoreless innings while striking out eight. If we get anywhere near that for the price, I'll be elated!

Also consider: Tanner Houck vs. SD; Paul Skenes at ATL; Jake Irvin at TB

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Rafael Devers – 3B, BOS vs. Michael King ($5.7K DK; $3.9K FD)

Devers has homered in three straight games and boasts a five-game hitting streak. Like most major league hitters, Devers can hit a fastball. Where he really excels is against changeups. Devers is hitting .471 on changeups this year, a pitch that King throws nearly 25% of the time.

Pete Alonso – 1B, NYM vs. Framber Valdez ($5K DK; $3.1K FD)

Alonso crushes lefties and crushes sinkers (.471 SLG, 8.6% strikeout rate). The surface numbers on Framber are still pretty solid, but he is allowing an alarmingly high 48.5% hard-hit rate and 91.5 mph average exit velocity. That's not a good combination against Alonso, who is notorious for hitting balls very hard. Alonso has three homers and 12 RBI in the last 10 games. He is starting to heat up when it really counts for the Mets.

Armando Alvarez – 2B, OAK vs. Zac Gallen ($3.4K DK; $2.5K FD)

The A's called up Alvarez with Abraham Toro landing on the IL. Alvarez has six hits in his first 12 at-bats. You may have noticed all of the big price tags above here. We're going to need some value, and Alvarez is providing a lot at a minimal price. He has little power and marginal speed, but he's hitting everything right now. If we get a hit or two out of him, we'll be happy with it for the significant savings he provides.

Also consider: Ketel Marte, Jose Ramirez, Mark Vientos

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. – OF, ARI vs. Hogan Harris ($4.1K DK; $3K FD)

Much was made over Gurriel's struggles early in the season. Someone (who shall remain nameless) even advised dropping him in standard leagues. Lourdes is cooking right now with a .417 average, two homers, five runs scored, and five RBI in the last 10 games. Hogan Harris has a sparkling 2.73 ERA, but he has been extraordinarily lucky. Opponents are only hitting .222 on balls in play and Harris boasts an unsustainable 80.9% strand rate.

The Cuban native is hitting a sizzling .345 against lefties this season with four homers in just 90 at-bats. The price is right to see if Harris's luck runs out against an Arizona team that hits lefties pretty well.

Brandon Marsh – OF, PHI vs. Roddery Munoz ($3.8K DK; $2.8K FD)

Injuries to Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber leave two gaping holes in this lineup. The Phillies moved Marsh to the cleanup role last night. He responded with two walks and an RBI double. Munoz has been knocked around so far this year. The Phillies offense is significantly less dangerous now, but it also means that a stack is much more affordable.

Randal Grichuk – OF, ARI vs. Hogan Harris ($3.2K DK; $2.4K FD)

Our bargain-basement outfield concludes where it began -- with an Arizona player that smacks lefties. Grichuk is hitting .312 against southpaws this year with 14 RBI in 77 at-bats. He is also hitting .333 this month. Grichuk fares well against all of Harris's offerings. He's a great way to cheap exposure to this lineup.

Also consider: Yordan Alvarez, Jarren Duran, Kyle Isbel
