BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 2% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Toronto Blue Jays have promoted infield/outfield prospect Addison Barger to make his big-league debut after he demolished Triple-A pitching to begin his 2024 season. He takes the roster spot of outfielder Kevin Kiermaier who was placed on the 10-day injured list with left hip flexor inflammation. Barger is hitting eighth and manning left field in his MLB debut Wednesday against the Royals.
The 24-year-old sure earned his promotion. Barger has mashed to a .314 average with three homers, 10 doubles, a massive 16.5% BB%, and a 1.021 OPS across 19 games with Triple-A Buffalo. That's six home runs in just 27 games with Buffalo between the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

He doesn't provide speed but the power and patience are real with a hefty track record of both in his minor-league career. You may remember a similar situation with a Jays infield/outfield prospect in Davis Schneider last season in which he mashed at Triple-A, got promoted, and became a lineup regular as perhaps the team's best offensive player down the stretch.
Obviously, there are no guarantees with Barger but if he can provide anything close to his Triple-A production in his big-league opportunity, the Jays will be forced to keep him up. He's worth an add in at least 15-team leagues as a high-upside prospect.
