Chris Godwin's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 16 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Chris Godwin for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3
ANALYSIS:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver caught 10 of his 12 targets for 155 yards in the Week 15 win over the Green Bay Packers. The wideout now has logged 68 catches for 814 yards but has just one touchdown so far this season. Godwin is still managing a sore knee as well, putting pressure on fantasy managers to decide whether he should be in lineups or not. Let's dive in.
Godwin reached a season-high with 155 receiving yards in Week 15 and it marks just the second time this season that the wideout has had over a 100-yard receiving game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has come up big time as well for this Buccaneers offense as he has now won three straight games while putting on high-level performances. This should give managers confidence as the quarterback play has been the biggest problem for Buccaneer wide receiver room all season.
In Week 16, the Buccaneers are at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars currently rank fifth in the NFL in most receiving yards allowed and seventh in the NFL in most receiving touchdowns allowed this season. This should ultimately give Godwin an advantage in the receiving game as Jacksonville has struggled all season defending the pass. Godwin will look to find himself in the end zone as it has been since Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills where he last scored.
Fantasy managers can view Godwin as a WR3 or a Flex for their rosters as the wideout pulls a great matchup this week and is coming off his best performance of the season in Week 15.
Chris Godwin is listed at WR31 in our Half-PPR rankings.
