Week 12 Tight End Rankings Analysis

A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks for key options in Week 12, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether to start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.

Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys
Week 12 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 89
Week 12 Tight End PPR Rankings: 9

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson had three straight TE1 finishes before taking a step back in Week 11. He'll look to get back to the top-12 ranks in a Week 12 game against the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving. Ferguson ended up with just five fantasy points in a TE21 game in Week 11, but the Cowboys did not really need to throw the ball much in that one, as the defense and running game took care of things pretty well.

This matchup could end up with another dominant Cowboys defensive performance, but on the other side of the ball, the Commanders' defense struggles through the air and should give all of the Cowboys pass-catchers plenty of chances to make plays. Ferguson is a low-end TE1 with touchdown upside.

Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers
Week 12 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 177
Week 12 Tight End PPR Rankings: 29

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft will go on the road to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 12 on Thanksgiving. The rookie will step into the starting role with fellow rookie Luke Musgrave (abdomen) being placed on Injured Reserve this week after suffering a scary injury and being hospitalized. Kraft has not done much this season but has been more involved over the past two weeks, garnering five targets. There is no clear indication that he will be the only player replacing Musgrave.

Veteran Josiah Deguara will also likely see some run with the starters on Thursday. Detroit has allowed the 13th-most fantasy points per game to the tight end position, so the matchup shouldn't scare fantasy managers. However, with no indication of how well Kraft will gel with quarterback Jordan Love, it is best to take a wait-and-see approach to the rookie for fantasy purposes.

Logan Thomas, TE, Washington Commanders
Week 12 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 92
Week 12 Tight End PPR Rankings: 10

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas has been one of the more consistent tight ends in the NFL this season. Unfortunately, there haven't been many splash outings from the veteran, but he's been a lock for four to five receptions during most weeks. With the Commanders taking on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12,

Thomas could be a good streaming play as Dallas typically clamps up opposing wide receivers. If Washington decides to involve the 32-year-old further, he could pay off. Considering he already has a solid floor, Thomas should be a stable streaming candidate for weak rosters at tight end.
