College Football Risers & Fallers: Week 12 NCAAF Stock Watch

Jayden Daniels - Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, QB, NFL Draft Sleepers

Who is trending up and down after Week 11 of the college football season? Read the RotoBaller stock watch report, courtesy of Brant Henson, that covers various players, coaches, and teams.

Week 11 saw no shake-ups in the national title landscape as Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, Washington, Oregon, and Alabama all cruised to wins. Just two regular season weeks remain in college football, followed by conference championship week and bowl season.

Noon started off with a Jim Harbaugh-less Michigan win, a dominant Alabama performance, an upset Kansas home loss, and an overtime win for Illinois. Arizona edged out Colorado in the mid-day slate, Florida State controlled the game over Miami, Washington beat out Utah, Missouri dominated Tennessee, Iowa shut out Rutgers, and Oklahoma State got ran over by UCF.

At night, Georgia took care of business against Ole Miss. Oklahoma did the same with West Virginia, as did Ohio State with Michigan State. Texas escaped TCU, LSU ran over Florida, and North Carolina beat Duke in an overtime thriller (in FOOTBALL!). Oregon rounded out the night with a convincing win over USC.

Stock Up

Cody Schrader, RB, Missouri

Missouri running back Cody Schrader exploded on Saturday, carrying the Tigers’ offense in a blowout win over Tennessee. Schrader carried the ball 35 times for 205 yards and a score while also adding 116 receiving yards on five receptions. The veteran running back has been pivotal in Missouri’s breakout season and should be garnering some NFL attention as he leads the SEC in rushing yards.

Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. has been unguardable as expected this season. Against Michigan State on Saturday night, Harrison scored the first three touchdowns of the game. He continues to build the case to contend for the Heisman trophy and will likely end up in New York following an unbelievable season.

Kobe Hudson, WR, UCF

UCF’s Kobe Hudson has quietly strung together an effective season. Hudson showed out on Saturday in the big blowout win over Oklahoma State, putting up a hat trick in the 45-3 win that got the Knights to five wins. Hudson had three receptions for 96 yards and three scores, taking the ball to the house on every reception. The explosive senior is sure to garner some NFL attention following his big season, sitting fourth in the Big 12 in receiving yards.

Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

Jayden Daniels had an explosive Saturday night game, leading the Tigers to a 52-35 win over Florida. Daniels completed 17-of-26 passes for 372 yards and three scores, while also rushing for 234 yards and an additional two touchdowns. The senior quarterback seems to put up an insane stat line weekly, as LSU averages 45.9 points per game. Daniels may not end up in the Heisman conversation with LSU sitting at three losses, but he deserves recognition for the incredible season he has put together.

Stock Down

Big Ten West

Following Week 11, five Big Ten West teams now sit at 5-5. With two games remaining, it is going to be a nail-biting finish as Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota all battle for bowl eligibility. Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota all lost games they were expected to win on Saturday, putting their seasons in jeopardy. This division continues to beat itself up weekly.

Washington State Cougars

Washington State enjoyed a hot start to the season, even cracking the AP poll early on. Recently, the Cougars have crumbled in three straight bad losses to Arizona State, Stanford, and California. They have now dropped six straight after starting the season 4-0. Washington State now needs to take down Colorado and Washington in back-to-back weeks in order to earn bowl eligibility. While quarterback Cam Ward has been impressive, the rest of the team has not done enough to garner wins and the season is now on life support.

Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M

Following a 51-10 win over Mississippi State, Texas A&M parted ways with head coach Jimbo Fisher in a massive buyout. Fisher ends his tenure as the Aggies’ head coach with a 45-25 record, bringing much less success than he was anticipated to provide for the program to the point where they were willing to pay him $77 million to stop coaching the team.

Fisher’s college football stock is down, but his life stock is up as he is collecting a significant amount of money to do nothing.

Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas was on top of the world two weeks ago after they pulled off a stunning upset over the Oklahoma Sooners. They rode the high to a tough road win over Iowa State, putting them in position to contend for a spot in the Big 12 championship. Then, they welcomed a 4-5 Texas Tech team to Lawrence and fell 16-13. Kansas has undoubtedly had a historic season and Lance Leipold deserves all of the hype in the world, but their high hopes were dashed a bit with their third loss in an unexpected upset.
