Top Five MLB Hitter Prospects To Stash For Fantasy Baseball Redraft Leagues (Week 20)

Matt Mervis - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Pranav's top five fantasy baseball hitter prospects to stash for fantasy baseball redraft leagues and week 20. Pickup these MLB prospects off the waiver wire.

Welcome back to top fantasy baseball hitter prospects to stash for Week 20 of the MLB season! While many of baseball's top young talents have shed their prospect status, plenty of talented hitting prospects have yet to make the final jump.

With a wave of prospect promotions expected when rosters expand in September, this is the best time to stash the remaining high-profile prospects.

These are five fantasy baseball hitting prospects worth stashing in redraft leagues in week 20. Many of these hitters should be up in time for the fantasy playoffs, so stashing them while their rostered rates are relatively low can be the decision that takes you to the top. Check back to see risers and fallers as teams continue to promote their young, talented prospects!

Top Fantasy Baseball Hitting Prospect Stashes

Masyn Winn - SS, St. Louis Cardinals

Since July 4, top shortstop prospect Masyn Winn has slashed .364/.434/.758 with nine home runs, 27 RBI, 31 runs, and three steals across 24 games -- all coupled with his usual elite defense.

It's abundantly clear that he has accomplished everything he can at the Triple-A level. Promotion to the major-league level is the only move left regarding Masyn Winn, but the St. Louis Cardinals aren't rushing it. To preserve his rookie status for 2024, the Cardinals will likely keep their top prospect down until the first weeks of September.

With Taylor Motter getting starts for a St. Louis team that is all but out of playoff contention, Winn should thrive when he does get the call-up.

Ceddanne Rafaela - OF, Boston Red Sox

Another defensive wizard with nothing left to prove at the minor-league level, Ceddanne Rafaela is a good bet to produce when promoted. Since his promotion to Triple-A Worcester, Rafaela has slashed .319/.367/.659 with 11 home runs, 25 runs, 30 RBI, and four stolen bases in 33 games.

While there isn't a clear spot for him in Boston, that dilemma matters less for him than other prospects. With his defensive versatility, Boston could slide him in at nearly every position on the diamond. Rafaela is an immediate upgrade over someone like Luis Urias, who sports a .549 OPS since arriving in Boston.

Everson Pereira - OF, New York Yankees

Despite the screams of anguish from the Yankees fanbase over the team's inconsistent offensive play, they're still within striking distance for the last AL Wild Card spot. However, giving regular starts to the struggling Billy McKinney (.625 OPS since July 1) isn't ideal for a team with playoff aspirations. But the antidote to New York's offensive woes is coming, inbound from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Per SNY's Andy Martino, the Yankees will promote outfield prospect Everson Pereira before the season's end. Pereira has performed incredibly since his promotion to the Triple-A level, slashing .324/.372/.559 with six home runs, 22 runs, and 30 RBI through 27 games.

Regardless of their playoff chances, the Yankees need outfield help and should give Pereira plenty of playing time upon his arrival.

Parker Meadows - OF, Detroit Tigers

While the higher-ranked Colt Keith is the more popular stash pick, he has yet to figure out Triple-A pitching. Tigers GM Scott Harris is notably conservative with prospect promotions, making it difficult to envision the talented Keith making his first impression in Comerica this September.

But another top-10 prospect in Detroit's system should see a call-up in 2023. Outfielder Parker Meadows has figured out Triple-A pitching, slashing .286/.361/.563 with 11 home runs, 34 RBI, 43 runs, and 11 stolen bases in his last 50 games with Triple-A Toledo.

Already a member of the 40-man roster, Meadows should see plenty of plate appearances in an underwhelming Tigers outfield.

Matt Mervis - 1B, Chicago Cubs

While he slashed a pitiful .167/.242/.289 in his first go-around at the major-league level, Matt Mervis has made great strides since his demotion.

Since his return to Triple-A Iowa on June 16, Mervis is slashing .294/.433/.507 with seven home runs, 23 RBI, 28 runs, and a 17.5% walk rate in 40 games.

The Cubs likely want to move first baseman Jeimer Candelario back to third base (Candelario's defense at third is six OAA, while his defense at first is below league-average); an improved Matt Mervis should be an apt replacement at first base.
