Running Backs – Fantasy Football Week 10

Jonathan Taylor

He is no longer listed on the Indianapolis injury report, and Taylor is set to make an apparent return to his lead RB role in Week 10 under a new coaching staff that will likely lean on him heavily. Taylor is aiming for his third game in a row with 75+ scrimmage yards. He has 1,266 scrimmage yards (122.6 per game) and 12 TDs (10 rushing) in his past 10 games on the road.

But will we see the version of Taylor who has been that sort of road demon, or the Taylor who has not rushed for 90 yards and has only one rushing TD in six games played this season? The answer may be somewhere in between, as Taylor should post respectable totals with a lot of work. Now that Nyheim Hines is gone, we can see Taylor more involved in the passing game. He did have a seven-catch game vs. the Titans on October 23rd.

The Raiders have allowed the most receiving yards to RBs. Even if Taylor has to work hard for his rushing yardage, he can post a good overall stat line based on versatility and a healthy amount of touches.

Jamaal Williams

Williams rushed for 81 yards last week. He leads the NFC and ranks third in the NFL with a career-high eight rushing TDs in 2022. Williams has rushed for two TDs in a game four times this season. He has not rushed for a TD in three of his past four games, though.

It is obvious that Williams is TD-dependent, and D’Andre Swift is no longer on the Detroit injury report, so his outlook may be improving. Still, Williams is a good RB2 fill-in or flex play against a Bears defense that has allowed 10 rushing TDs to running backs, third-most in the league. Even when Swift is playing without any restrictions, Williams will still be a major threat to take away a good amount of goal-line opportunities.

James Conner

He returned after a three-game layoff in Week 9 and totaled 64 yards on 12 touches (five receptions). Conner should certainly see a larger role in his second game since coming back from rib issues.

Conner has 50+ scrimmage yards in 13 straight games, tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the league. He had two rushing TDs in his last road meeting with the Rams. Los Angeles does rank third-best in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to RBs. Still, Conner fought hard for yardage last week and will at least deliver adequate fantasy production as an RB2 in Week 10.

Miles Sanders

It has not been mentioned often enough how much Miles Sanders has improved as a pure runner this season. He is running more decisively and with more authority, and the results have been very apparent in his rushing TD totals. He has already tied his career high of six rushing TDs after not rushing for a single TD last season.

While already being headed for a career-best in rushing attempts (he has 131, career high is 179), Sanders is still averaging five yards per carry. He rushed for 93 yards and a TD last week. Sanders is aiming for his fourth game in a row at home and fourth in a row overall with a rushing TD. He had 146 scrimmage yards (131 rushing) in his last home meeting with Washington. In most tight lineup decisions involving Sanders, he should get the nod.

Wide Receivers – Fantasy Football Week 10

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Detroit’s top WR led the team with 55 yards last week. He had six catches for 70 yards in his last road meeting with the Bears. He has not played like the fantasy WR1 that many regard him to be in his last five games played. During that span, St. Brown does not have a TD reception and he has not cracked the 75-yard receiving mark.

St. Brown has not been the same since returning from an ankle injury after performing at high levels in the first two games of the season. Jared Goff plays better at home, and that trend shows up in St. Brown's numbers. He has no TD receptions in three road games played this year, and he averages 8.6 yards per catch on the road, compared to 10.9 at home. St. Brown cannot be benched, but I am not ranking him as a No. 1 fantasy WR right now.

Donovan Peoples-Jones

Amari Cooper will naturally draw the most attention from the shaky Miami pass defense this week, but Peoples-Jones should also be a playmaking threat for Cleveland. He had season-high 81 receiving yards in Week 8. Peoples-Jones is aiming for his fourth game in a row with 70+ receiving yards.

In his career, Peoples-Jones has averaged 16.9 yards per reception. Miami ranks 23rd in receiving yardage allowed to WRs. If you need a fill-in WR3 or flex for Week 10, Peoples-Jones has a bit of upside. His QB, Jacoby Brissett, is used to playing in the South Florida conditions, too.

Jerry Jeudy

You have to hope that a bye week gave the Broncos an opportunity to create some ways to jumpstart a limp passing game. Any signs of improvement can certainly benefit Jeudy. The Titans have tightened up a bit more recently on defense, ranking in the top half of the league in FFPG allowed to WRs.

Jeudy had six catches for 63 yards and his third TD of the season in Week 8. He is aiming for his sixth game in a row with 50+ receiving yards and his third in a row with 6+ catches and 60 yards. Jeudy has a TD catch in three of four road games this season. If Russell Wilson can show even moderate signs of getting back on track, you can get good fantasy production from Jeudy in Week 10.

Josh Palmer

Palmer has not shied away from the challenge of operating as the top WR for the Chargers while Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are out. He led the team with eight catches for a career-high 106 yards last week. Palmer is aiming for his third game in a row with 8+ catches and 55+ yards.

The 49ers have ranked in the top half of the league in FFPG allowed to WRs this season, but Palmer has 17 receptions on 22 targets in his last two games and he will continue to be a prime playmaking option for Los Angeles regardless of the matchup.

Quarterbacks And Tight Ends – Fantasy Football Week 10

Justin Fields

The Bears QB is arriving as a must-start fantasy player. Fields rushed for a career-high 178 yards last week and surpassed Michael Vick (173 on 12/1/02) for the most rush yards by a QB in a regular season game since 1940. In Week 9, he became the first player in NFL history with 3+ TD passes, 150+ rush yards, and a rushing TD in a single game. Fields is aiming for his fourth game in a row with a rushing TD and his fifth game in a row with 60+ rushing yards. Unless you roster Patrick Mahomes or Jalen Hurts, Fields should be locked in vs. Detroit in Week 10.

Jimmy Garoppolo

Garoppolo completed 21 of 25 attempts for 235 yards and two TDs vs. 0 INTs for a season-high passer 132.5 rating in Week 8. He has thrown 2+ TD passes in four consecutive games. Garoppolo has eight TDs vs. three INTs in four home Sunday Night starts with the 49ers. With Deebo Samuel back and Christian McCaffrey fully in the offensive mix, Garoppolo heads into Week 10 with his best supporting cast ever and he is a strong streaming play.

Evan Engram

The 2022 fantasy season has been a rollercoaster ride for Engram, but he does have a pretty good matchup in Week 10. The Chiefs rank 26th in FFPG allowed to TEs. Engram has 55+ receiving yards in two of his past three games and he totaled 29 targets in his previous four games prior to last week. Engram is capable of providing at least a decent fantasy stat line in Week 10.
