NFL Week 5 Fantasy Football Weather Report

Justin Jefferson - Fantasy Football rankings, NFL DFS, Injury News

Kipp's Week 5 NFL weather report for fantasy football (2025). He looks at which NFL games will be affected by weather to make key fantasy start/sit decisions.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to our Week 5 fantasy football weather report for the 2025 NFL season! The first few weeks of games brought us a ton of excitement and very limited weather issues. As a reminder, I will be here each and every week through the Super Bowl to discuss the weather forecasts for every NFL game, where appropriate. This is an article that is near and dear to my heart, as I am always looking for a weather edge where I can find one.

We will rely on the most accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts for each stadium from AccuWeather, a source that provides comprehensive weather maps. Factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed/direction, and visibility can play a crucial role in shaping game outcomes and statistics.

Our goal with this article is to assist you in making informed decisions for your fantasy teams and other betting activities, allowing you to capitalize on opportunities or navigate challenges posed by weather dynamics. Additionally, I hope to be able to update the article at least once each weekend before games kick off, as this article does publish on Thursdays. Here is your comprehensive fantasy football weather report for Week 5 of the 2025 season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Dome Games (No Weather Impact)

Some games in Week 5 will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.

  • San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams
  • New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints
  • Las Vegas Raiders @ Indianapolis Colts
  • Tennessee Titans @ Arizona Cardinals
  • Washington Commanders @ Los Angeles Chargers

Minimal Weather Impact

These outdoor games in Week 5 don't appear to have very many weather concerns.

Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens (Sunday Early Slate)

We have a surprising matchup of 1-3 teams when the Texans travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. Luckily, for these two struggling teams, the weather should not be of concern.

AccuWeather tells us that temperatures should be in the upper 70s under partly sunny skies. Sustained winds will be mild, coming in at around 6 mph, with gusts pushing 14 mph. Overall, fantasy managers should have no concerns rolling their studs out in this one.

Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday Early Slate)

The Broncos will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in what is anticipated to be a tough defensive battle between two teams coming off big Week 4 wins.

Overall, the weather for this tilt should be exceptional, with temperatures hovering around 80 degrees under partly sunny skies. The winds should be of no concern, as sustained winds are projected to be around 6 mph, with gusts near 14 mph.

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets (Sunday Early Slate)

We have yet another interconference matchup when the Dallas Cowboys travel to the Meadowlands to take on the winless New York Jets. Both of these teams are looking to get their 2025 season on track after not achieving their desired outcome in Week 4.

Overall, temperatures for this game are expected to be in the lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. Sustained winds are expected to come in around 6 mph with gusts near 13 mph. Once again, we have solid weather at MetLife Stadium, which we should be thankful for, as this will likely not be the case once we get later into the season.

Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers (Sunday Early Slate)

Interconference matchups are the theme this weekend, apparently. The 1-3 Miami Dolphins will travel to Charlotte to take on the 1-3 Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. The weather for this game is expected to be rather solid, with temperatures close to 80 degrees. Winds should also be mild under mostly sunny skies, with sustained winds coming in at 8 mph and gusts around 16 mph. Start your studs with confidence in this one.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks (Sunday Late Slate)

The 3-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Seattle to take on the 3-1 Seahawks at Lumen Field in what is likely a battle between two teams we could see in the playoffs later this season.

The weather in Seattle can always be a bit dicey, but thankfully, it should be of little concern for this tilt. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-60s under mostly sunny skies. Sustained winds are expected to be mild at 8 mph, with gusts closer to 16 mph. This should be a really great matchup.

Detroit Lions @ Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday Late Slate)

We have a matchup between two teams headed in completely different directions when the 3-1 Lions travel to the 2-2 Bengals for a tilt at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.

The weather should be solid for this contest, as temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s under sunny skies. Winds here will be mild with sustained winds sitting at 6 mph and gusts coming in at 14 mph. All studs are a must-start in this one, especially if you have players on the Lions.

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills (Sunday Night Slate)

Sunday Night Football brings us a matchup between two AFC East division rivals when the 2-2 New England Patriots travel to Orchard Park to take on the 4-0 Buffalo Bills. Both of these teams are coming off wins in Week 4 and are looking to keep their momentum rolling on Sunday night.

Oftentimes, we can have troubling weather at the Bills’ home games; however, Sunday night’s matchup should bring solid weather to Highmark Stadium. Overall, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s under mostly clear skies. Winds are also expected to be mild, with sustained winds of 6 mph and gusts around 14 mph.

Moderate Weather Impact

Let's take a look at some games where the weather is not quite severe, but could still have a moderate impact on the game and help give us some information on what types of skill players might be worth being more cautious with.

Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns (Sunday Morning Slate)

The Sunday slate kicks off overseas at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The weather for this interconference matchup may get a bit dicey, as remnants of Hurricane Humberto will be in effect. Overall, temperatures are expected to be in the lower 60s with rain turning into partly cloudy skies in the afternoon.

The biggest concern for this game will be the winds, however. Currently, sustained winds are expected to be around 9 mph, with gusts pushing upward of 27 mph. These are strong gusts and will cause problems for kickers and the deep passing game. It would be best to leave kickers on your bench in this one, and it might be prudent to sit your deep-threat wide receivers as well.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Monday Night Slate)

Our final game of Week 5 brings us to Jacksonville, where the 2-2 Kansas City Chiefs will take on the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium. Both of these teams are coming off massive Week 4 wins and are looking to continue their success here in Week 5.

AccuWeather tells us that temperatures should be in the mid-70s; however, we could see some rain. Currently, there is a possibility of a thunderstorm or two during the game, which is not all that surprising this time of year in Florida.

We have seen this play out many times this season, and ultimately, they have not caused many issues for fantasy managers. While I expect this to be the case once again, it certainly will not hurt to check this forecast again as we get closer to kickoff. Despite the possible storms, winds are expected to remain mild, with sustained winds hovering around 7 mph and gusts reaching 17 mph.

Severe Weather Impact

There are currently no games scheduled in Week 5 featuring severe weather concerns.
