Buying and Selling FFPC Teams on Dynasty Depot

Ja'Marr Chase - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

Dynasty Depot is the place for FFPC dynasty league fantasy football owners to buy or sell their franchises for profit. Kyle Lindemann explains how it works with some helpful tips.

One of the great appeals of playing in a dynasty league is that it gives players who enjoy fantasy football something to do all year round. Bored in the offseason? No problem. Don't want to get stuck waiting until August to start drafting again? No problem. Have someone out there who you think might be a breakout playing in the upcoming season and you want to trade for them? No problem.

Dynasty leagues give you action 365 days and 12 months out of the year! You don't have to wait seven months of the year to play again as you would in a redraft league.

What if you wanted to take it one step further and sell off the great team that you built for a profit? What if you no longer enjoyed playing with the league mates in a certain league and wanted to get rid of it without losing your typical dynasty league deposit? You may even feel like you have too many teams to manage or want to sell an existing team to use the funds to pay for a new startup team. Dynasty Depot has got you covered on all fronts so you don't have to walk away with nothing after all the hard work you put in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

What is Dynasty Depot?

Founded by lifelong dynasty veterans: Nelson Verbit and Rick Taylor, Dynasty Depot is essentially like EBay but for dynasty teams on FFPC, the go-to platform for dynasty leagues. The founders realized there was a large demand from dedicated dynasty players who wanted something more to do in the offseason. By going on to the Dynasty Depot website, you can browse teams that have been listed for sale.

One of the great aspects of DD that I have found is I can look for teams that have certain players that I like and buy those teams. Kyle Pitts is one player who is nearly impossible to trade for in existing dynasty leagues right now. In one league, I offered the 1.05 and two 2023 firsts for Pitts and the other owner just laughed at me. When you factor in what Pitts goes for in startups with full PPR - Tight End Premium scoring, he is very expensive. One of the ways I have been able to get him at a more reasonable value is to try and find an orphan team who has him or by going on Dynasty Depot and looking for teams for sale that feature Kyle Pitts on the roster.

As a dedicated dynasty player, this gives me something to work on during the offseason. If I see a team that is priced too low on the website, typically I purchase the team and can have it flipped for a profit in a matter of days. You are probably wondering what the catch is and that is Dynasty Depot is exclusively partnered up with FFPC.

While you may have other dynasty teams on Sleeper or My Fantasy League, FFPC fully guarantees all of their leagues and they are relatively bulletproof. One of the challenges to a dynasty is continuing to keep existing leagues going. FFPC has never had a league fold and has been doing dynasty for 10+ years. This gives you great peace of mind as an investor. Over 1,000 teams have already been sold on Dynasty Depot since January 1 of this year, but if you want to use Dynasty Depot, you are going to have to play on FFPC.

Membership Levels

There are three membership levels available on Dynasty Depot:

Hall of Fame: Unlimited bid/buy/sell, Dynasty Nerds #NERDHERD membership ($49.99 value), FIVE "hot box" promoted team listings, and a $35 FFPC credit (new members only).

All-Pro: Unlimited bid/buy/sell, Dynasty Nerds #NERDHERD membership ($49.99 value), and ONE "hot box" promoted team listing.

Rookie: Unlimited bid/buy/sell and In-add upgrade options.

Use promo code: "TRYDD" for a free 30-day rookie membership.

Dynasty Depot is more than reasonable with their fees and only takes a 10% cut of the profits, the rest goes to you. One added convenience of DD is that they don't handle any of the money and you don't have to worry about cashing any funds of it out. Once a team is sold on DD, it is transferred directly to the new owner and the profits go directly back into your FFPC account. All deposits are refunded as well, including the additional $77 fee that goes to pay for $77 leagues in year two. Please reference my previous article on FFPC Dynasty Startup Strategy

Buying Strategies

One thing to know when navigating teams for sale on DD is that you can filter teams that have 2+ first-round rookie picks. With FFPC rookie drafts coming up in early May of this year, rookie fever is already in full swing. There are different filters that you can choose from.

League entry fees: $77, $250, $500, $750, $1250, $2500, $5000

Format: Standard, Best Ball, Superflex, Superflex Best Ball, Tri-Flex (no Kicker or Defense), Tri-Flex Best Ball

Sort By: Newest, Expiring Soon, Entry Fee

You are also able to favorite certain listings that you can keep an eye on during the time that they are up for sale.

If you are listing an expensive team or feel like you have a really good team to sell, I recommend paying $5 for the Hot Box listing fee. What the Hot Box does is put teams for sale immediately to the front of the line and show the Hot Box on the left side of the screen for all people who are browsing teams for sale. This gives the team you have up for sale more exposure by putting it in the view of more potential buyers. If you are selling a team for over a few hundred dollars, an additional $5 is well worth it. However, if your team does not sell for whatever reason, the $5 fee is nonrefundable.

When you are looking for teams to purchase, you want to be looking for players who typically go early on in a startup. Players like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and Kyle Pitts are all good places to start. If you want to purchase a team that plays in a "Best Ball" format, I recommend trying to find teams that have elite stacks on them, such as having the same QB/WR, QB/TE, or even teams that feature two running backs who are on the same team. Having stacks helps teams in best ball because it helps to create a synergy where the team owner benefits with double points if Josh Allen throws a touchdown to Stefon Diggs and the team has both of them.

You can also go through and see what other teams have sold for to get a gauge of where the value is. Ultimately everyone's strategy and opinions of player value are different, so the most important thing is to do your homework.

Selling Strategies

When a team is listed for sale, you are required to set a reserve price for each of your listings that you are willing to accept, along with a "Buy It Now" option. Each listing lasts for 72 hours. After the auction, you have the option to accept or decline the highest offer even if the reserve is not met. If the reserve is met, typically the buyer has 24 hours to decide whether or not they want to purchase the team. Once the reserve is met, you as the seller are not able to cancel the listing.

Buyers on Dynasty Depot love draft capital, whether it be on a team with extra picks for the following season or several first-round picks in an upcoming rookie draft. There is about a week in between the NFL Draft and when rookie drafts on FFPC take place. The week after the NFL Draft is over maybe the prime time to sell teams with the 1.01 rookie pick and so on as the rookie landing spots will be determined and rookie fever will sweep across the dynasty community.

Everyone values players differently, but one thing I would do is to go on a website like Dynasty Nerds, Keep-Trade-Cut, or Fantasy Pros and look at their dynasty rankings or dynasty values for players. From there, you can get a gauge of what your team is worth and what you might be able to sell it for. Generally speaking, a great team that is still relatively young and has additional draft capital is going to go for the most on the DD website.

Leaderboards

By purchasing a team on Dynasty Depot, you are automatically entered into their Leaderboards for a chance at some great prizes. This is a yearly contest for all players who purchase a team on the DD site in Standard, Best Ball, Superflex, and Superflex Best Ball formats.

The contest is based on total points through the first 13 weeks of the regular season. There are four Main Event prizes and a total of 10 places are paid out.

1st Place = One ticket to the FFPC Main Event ($1900 value)

Runner-Up = $500 entry fee for a new team on the FFPC site

3rd Place = $250 entry fee for a new team on the FFPC site

4th through 7th Place = $77 entry fee for a new team on the FFPC site

8th through 10th Place = 1-year Hall of Fame membership on Dynasty Depot

There are a handful of rules to remain eligible for the prizes:

  1. Must maintain ownership of the purchased team through the following season
  2. Dynasty Depot membership must remain active and not elapsed at any point during the season
  3. Team must be purchased in the same calendar year of the upcoming NFL season

These are all nice prizes that are handed out in addition to teams who are participating on the DD website.

Conclusion

Dynasty Depot is a relatively new website and its membership is growing. If you are someone who enjoys dynasty all year round and is good at it, there is money to be made on Dynasty Depot. The addition of DD to the dynasty realm helps to give players on FFPC additional flexibility when it comes to managing their portfolios of teams. Let's be honest, we all love drafting, but we all don't love managing them.

As someone passionate about growing the dynasty community, the DD website is a fantastic tool for people who are looking to buy and sell dynasty teams.
