Obi Toppin Will Miss Friday’s Game
Obi Toppin (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Grizzlies, his fifth consecutive absence due to a strained left hamstring. Toppin's absence in the frontcourt, along with that of Nerlens Noel's (foot), has left Taj Gibson and Jericho Sims as the team's primary big men off the bench. While Toppin's NBA Slam Dunk Contest attributes have been on display the past few years, he remains a limited contributor off the bench for New York, averaging just 15 minutes on a nightly basis. His next chance to return to action comes Sunday vs. Brooklyn.
