Wyatt's fantasy football breakouts, risers, trade targets to acquire for the second half of 2025. Players primed for breakouts include Tyjae Spears, Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid.
We are somehow already past the halfway mark of the 2025 NFL season, and we are starting to get close to the fantasy football playoffs. While some fantasy managers have been thriving so far this season, there are just as many left surviving each passing week.
With fantasy trade deadlines fastly approaching over the next couple of weeks, now is the time to start making moves to put yourself ahead of the pack. Even if you're sitting behind the eightball or feel like the odds are stacked against you, don’t give up! Sometimes, all it takes is acquiring the right player to turn your season around from surviving to thriving.
Here, we identify a few players who have breakout potential in the second half of the season. These guys have had flashes over the first half of the season, but have different factors that point towards a stronger finish down the stretch.

Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans
It wasn’t that long ago that Spears ignited the fantasy football world with a strong second-half breakout season. Spears finished his 2024 campaign with three straight top-12 finishes and two games scoring over 20 points.
The Tennessee Titans are heading into a crucial bye week after their offense failed to score a touchdown in Week 9’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, marking the third time this season. The Titans’ offense has lacked a consistent playmaker and might turn to the versatile third-year running back. Spears’s explosiveness makes him a top candidate to lead the backfield.
Tony Pollard staying with the Titans after the trade deadline slightly limits Spears’s ceiling, but doesn’t diminish his fantasy value. He has scored over seven fantasy points in four consecutive games despite being out-touched by Pollard. Spears has been one of the most efficient runners in the league, averaging 5.1 yards per carry since returning, a full yard more than Pollard. In a limited running role, Spears has managed to stay relevant in fantasy.

Spears’s contributions in the passing game give him a high floor and set him apart in PPR leagues. Over half of his fantasy points come from his receiving production. Since his return, he’s become Cam Ward’s security blanket with 13 catches for 96 yards on 14 targets.
Spears has the talent and opportunity to repeat as a second-half breakout star.
Stefon Diggs, WR, New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are riding a six-game win streak and have found their next franchise quarterback. Drake Maye is getting the ball to his receivers and has developed a strong connection with his top target. Diggs has emerged as that go-to target and a Top-24 fantasy receiver.
Diggs leads the Patriots in almost every receiving stat and is looking more and more like his old self as each week passes. In his last five of six games, Diggs has scored over 10 fantasy points and has had a touchdown in each of his previous two games. Diggs has been a consistent WR2 for fantasy managers during a wild year and has the opportunity to find another gear down the stretch.

Over the second half of the season, Diggs will consistently see favorable matchups against below-average pass defenses, including the Bengals, Giants, and the Sauce Gardnerless Jets twice. The Patriots will continue to rely on the Maye-Diggs connection as both consistently improve each week.
The stars are starting to align for Diggs to take a major leap in the back half of the season.
Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
Once again, the Buffalo Bills have one of the best passing attacks in the NFL with quarterback Josh Allen under center. Kincaid has taken the lead role among pass catchers, finally living up to being the 25th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The 26-year-old leads the Bills in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and receiving yards per game. Kincaid has been a Top-8 tight end in fantasy points scored and Top-5 in points per game. The former Utah standout has quietly been breaking out under the radar while dealing with small injuries.
Kincaid has dominated when fully healthy on the field this season, scoring a touchdown in four of seven games. He has finished in the Top 4 of weekly finishes in 40 percent of his games this season. If he can stay healthy, Kincaid’s talent and involvement in a Josh Allen-led offense make him a smash pick to be a second-half breakout player.

Who Should I Trade For?
Week 10 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Tyjae Spears, Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid. These are some key fantasy football names heading into the second half.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
