5 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers To Sell In Dynasty Leagues (2026)

Michael Wilson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, NFL DFS Picks

Which fantasy football wide receivers should you sell in 2026? Aidin Ebrahimi examines five WRs to consider trading away in your 2026 dynasty leagues.

You have to be bold if you want to win in dynasty fantasy football. Being too pragmatic and cautious can cost you, and you have to take risks to succeed, kind of like a general manager of a real football team.

Some consider WRs to be the backbones of successful fantasy teams, especially in PPR formats. However, they have a short shelf life, as most great wideouts slow down in their 30s. Other factors, such as ego, off-field issues, injuries, and poor QB play, can destroy their careers and turn former All-Pros into JAGs overnight.

Without further ado, let's look at five star wide receivers you should consider selling in dynasty fantasy football ahead of the 2026 season.

George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys

Before we begin talking about Pickens, let's make one thing absolutely clear. He is a mercurial talent, but there's a reason why Mike Tomlin and the Steelers traded him to the Cowboys for what many considered a "small return."

The Steelers dealt him and a 2027 sixth-round pick for just a 2026 third and a 2027 fifth-round pick, which seemed like a bargain for a fourth-year receiver who was just about to enter his prime.

NFL fans and media mocked the Steelers for this deal, and on the surface, they were right. Pickens had a career year in his first season as a Cowboy, racking up 1,429 receiving yards (third in the NFL) and scoring nine touchdowns. But now, the Cowboys are starting to understand why the Steelers chose to move on from him so suddenly.

Pickens has established himself as one of the league's very best players, and now he wants to be paid like a superstar. However, Jerry Jones is not an easy man to negotiate with. The team placed the franchise tag on Pickens in February and is currently in a contract standoff with the 25-year-old WR.

Jones recently hinted that Pickens' agent is the one making the deal difficult and even made the ludicrous suggestion that he should sign a deal with the team without an agent. There's no reason for the team with the NFL's bottom-ranked defense to have two (potential) $100 million receivers.

Just look at what happened to the Bengals last year. It's safe to assume that the contract standoff will continue long into the offseason. That is when the "ugly side" of Pickens will start to show up.

What is the "ugly side" of Pickens? It's Steelers Pickens. The same player who gave up in the middle of routes, who never helped with run blocking, and who arrived at games at the last minute. That's why the Steelers dealt him, because Tomlin could see the inner Antonio Brown inside Pickens.

Pickens will turn Dallas into hell until he gets extended, so it might actually trade him, as teams such as the Ravens have shown interest. And the cycle will keep repeating itself.

Pickens' dynasty value is at an all-time high, as he's currently RotoBaller's dynasty WR11. If there's one thing that playing fantasy football for so long has taught me, it's that you should never trust "diva" wide receivers in contract disputes.

Current KeepTradeCut Value:

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

Khalil Shakir was given the opportunity of a lifetime in 2024 following Stefon Diggs' departure from Buffalo. The Boise State product showed some flashes in his sophomore 2023 season and was handed the keys to be the Bills' true WR1 in 2024 and 2025.

Unfortunately, Shakir averaged just 770 yards and four touchdowns in his two seasons as Buffalo's star wideout. Following yet another heartbreaking playoff loss in 2025, the front office added DJ Moore to the mix, which could mean Shakir's days as a WR1 are over.

His game is almost exclusively reliant on yards after the catch on short passes, as 76% of his yardage came after a reception, while only having a 3.9 depth of target. His 10.0 yards per reception ranked 30th amongst the NFL's top-32 target leaders in 2025.

Current KeepTradeCut Value:

Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

Michael Wilson had a breakout for the ages in the second half of the 2025 season. After averaging just 35.4 yards per game in his first 38 career games, Wilson exploded by putting up 775 yards and six touchdowns in the final eight games of the 2025 season.

Wilson is clearly a talented player who can turn almost any bad throw into a catch, but his success might have been a product of circumstance rather than being a true breakout.

Former head coach Jonathan Gannon and former OC Drew Petzing realised they were "dead men walking," and with Kyler Murray, James Conner, and Trey Benson out for the year and Marvin Harrison Jr. being in and out of the lineup due to injuries, they decided to have fun.

They made veteran Jacoby Brissett throw an obscene amount of passes (from Week 10 to Week 15, Brissett threw 45.7 passes per game, slightly more than Matthew Stafford's NFL-record 45.4 passes per game in 2012) to Wilson and star TE Trey McBride.

Brissett threw five interceptions while targeting Wilson during his breakout stretch. Conner and Benson will be healthy to establish Arizona's running game next year alongside new addition Tyler Allgeier, and with MHJ's return, it's unlikely to imagine HC Mike LaFleur and OC Nathaniel Hackett will run such a one-dimensional offense in 2026.

Current KeepTradeCut Value:

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

Similar to George Pickens, Rashee Rice is an extremely talented player seeking a big payday. Unlike Pickens, whose conduct issues are mostly on the field, Rice has had major off-field issues throughout his short career.

Rice has missed 22 games since 2024 due to injuries and suspensions, which means he has only played in 35% of the Chiefs' regular-season games since his sophomore campaign.

He recently revealed that he was seeking "JSN money" for his next contract, referring to his fellow 2023 draftee, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who signed a record-breaking four-year, $168 million contract extension.

Simply put, there's no way anyone will pay Rice anywhere near that amount due to his troubles with the law. He is currently on probation due to his hit-and-run car crash in the 2024 offseason, and was accused of domestic violence in the 2026 offseason, though he will not receive any punishment for the latter.

The Chiefs are looking to draft a WR in the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft, which could help the team quietly move on from Rice.

Current KeepTradeCut Value:

Chris Godwin Jr., Tampa Bay Buccaneers

From 2019 to 2023, only 11 wide receivers recorded more receiving yards than Chris Godwin Jr. (5,323), a stat that becomes even more impressive once you factor in the gruesome ACL and MCL injury Godwin suffered near the end of the 2021 season.

Following that impressive five-year stretch, it seemed like Godwin had reached another level in the 2024 season. He started the year off by catching 43 passes for 511 yards and five touchdowns in his first six games, which ranked him as the overall PPR WR1 during that stretch.

However, he suffered yet another injury setback that was even more severe than his 2021 injury. Godwin missed the rest of the 2024 campaign but was expected to be healthy for the start of the 2025 season.

Those expectations were shattered in the summer, as it was revealed that Godwin required a second surgery on his lower leg during the offseason, described as a "clean-up" procedure.

Godwin returned to the field in Week 4, but reaggravated his injury after just two games. He was healthy for the final stretch of the year, as he put up 308 yards and two touchdowns in his last seven games.

He looked slower than usual at times, which is to be expected after all those injuries. He's also heading into his age-30 season, which is when wide receivers usually start to drop off.

Despite Mike Evans' heartbreaking departure, the Buccaneers have a plethora of young and talented WRs on their roster. Godwin will have to compete for targets with Emeka Egbuka, Jalen McMillan, and Tez Johnson, and his physical style of play (6.2 YAC per reception in 2025, eighth among WRs with 40+ targets) is not suited for an aging player with an increasingly concerning injury history.
