Week 10 Fantasy Football News and Outlooks

Wil Lutz, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz (illness) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice after being limited with an illness earlier in the week. The 31-year-old is good to go and doesn't carry an injury designation versus the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night. He will look to right the ship in Week 10 after missing his first field goal of the season in Week 9. He dealt with an illness during the week and doesn't carry an injury designation versus the Raiders on Thursday night.

To be fair, the Houston Texans blocked the field goal attempt, which was from 51 yards out. The Raiders average 26.3 points allowed per game, which enabled Lutz more opportunities than he had in Week 9 to put points up on the board. In what could be a close game due to the division rivalry, managers should count on Lutz to bounce back as RotoBaller has him ranked at 11 overall for the week.

Graham Gano, New York Giants

New York Giants kicker Graham Gano (neck) was unable to take the field for Wednesday's practice session. It appears Gano is managing a neck injury after missing four games earlier in the season due to a groin issue. When healthy, Gano has been a viable option for the Giants, but keeping him healthy has been a problem.

The Giants have both Younghoe Koo and Jude McAtamney on their practice squad right now. One of them would get the starting gig if Gano is forced to miss time. He'll have a few days to get ready ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Joshua Karty, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is facing competition for the starting kicking gig, according to head coach Sean McVay. The organization will have Harrison Mevis compete for the kicking job with Karty ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Karty had a strong rookie campaign where he connected on 84.3 percent of his field goal attempts. The 23-year-old is having a much more difficult time during his sophomore season. Karty is 10-for-15 on field goal attempts, while missing three additional extra point kicks. Mevis hasn't kicked in the NFL before and was signed onto the practice squad this week. Neither kicker is an ideal option for the Week 10 contest against the 49ers.

Ty Johnson, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills running back Ty Johnson could see increased usage in Week 10. Through eight games, he has logged 17 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown, along with four receptions for 31 yards. With James Cook (foot/ankle) not practicing, Johnson may be in line for a larger workload.

Johnson has outsnapped Ray Davis this season, but in the one game Cook missed last year, Davis played 63% of the snaps compared to Johnson's 35%. Cook's status will dictate how the backfield shakes out, so monitor practice reports closely. If Cook sits, both Johnson and Davis would see expanded roles against a vulnerable Miami defense.

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

Despite his team's struggles, Las Vegas Raiders right end Brock Bowers is a must-start tight end in a Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The second-year superstar from Georgia returned from a knee injury with a three-touchdown, week-winning performance last time out, and there's no reason to stray from him against Denver.

The Broncos may be one of the best overall defenses in the league, but they've been only middle of the pack against fantasy tight ends. Further, Vegas shipped out top wide receiver Jakobi Meyers this week, opening the door for Bowers to vacuum even more targets during the remainder of the season. Ranked as RotoBaller's No. 2 overall tight end this week, Bowers should be starting in every format.

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker is perhaps this week's most unpredictable fantasy player when his team takes on the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. The Raiders granted receiver Jakobi Meyers' trade request this week by shipping the veteran to Jacksonville, which figures to make Tucker the team's No. 2 option behind tight end Brock Bowers. His first opportunity, however, comes against a Broncos defense that has allowed the second-fewest points to fantasy wide receivers.

Given the circumstances, managers should consider Tucker to be a risky WR3/flex option. While Tucker could be in line for more targets without Meyers, he's still not the offense's top option, he's playing on a bad team, and he's up against one of the very best secondaries in the league this week.

Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden has emerged as one of Justin Herbert's go-to targets in the pass game over the past four weeks. Gadsden leads the Chargers with 377 receiving yards since he became a full-time player in Week 6 and ranks third on the team in targets per game (6.5) behind Keenan Allen (7.8) and Ladd McConkey (9.8). The 22-year-old has showcased the ability to earn targets as a rookie in a crowded Chargers pass-catching group, as well as strong after-the-catch ability.

For teams with a strong tight end already in place, Gadsden is worth starting as a flex given how impressive he's been. The rookie tight end is ranked as RotoBaller's TE4 for Week 10 on Sunday night football against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Emari Demercado, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado had a strong performance in a 27-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9, rushing for a team-high 79 yards on 14 carries. Demercado ran well against a poor Dallas run defense, and with uncertainty in regards to Trey Benson's (knee) return, the Cardinals could ride the hot hand with Demercado as the back to receive the most touches in their Week 10 matchup against the division-leading Seattle Seahawks.

The Arizona backfield has been a messy one to figure out for fantasy managers, and it will likely stay that way for the foreseeable future. Seattle is a tough matchup, but Demercado has value as a flex play.
