BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 7% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I have to assume when the Bills drafted James Cook with a second-round pick they definitely did not envision what happened to the rookie in his first game--actually first snap--as a pro: one snap played, one fumbled, and just one more snap in the second half to wrap up a debut to forget.
Nobody ever doubted Devin Singletary taking the no. 1 role on the Bills backfield, but by the look of it, and for now, Zack Moss seems to be the second option in the rotation. This backfield has still to shape itself into its final form, but odds are Moss gets the bulkier load ahead of Cook at least until the rookie gets accustomed to the NFL. Moss, who played 22 snaps (38% of the Bills' total; Singletary logged 34 snaps) went on to rack up the most PPR points among Buffalo's tailbacks with 8.6 to Singletary's 8.2.
Moss carried the ball six times for 15 yards (meh) but was fantastic receiving six passes (on six targets) for a perfect catch rate and 21 yards over those receptions. Singletary was the better rusher (48 yards on eight carries) but his 2-for-2 on pass plays for 14 yards fell short of Moss' total tally.
Singletary is going to keep the RB1 role in this offense and will surely have better days ahead with his appeal being higher on standard leagues. Moss could boost his numbers thanks to the PPR format, and although he's only a "backup" rusher for now (with the chance of rookie James Cook taking snaps/opportunities from him in a few weeks and as the season progresses) but he should be part of most deep-league rosters instead of remaining in your league's WW.
