Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:

Ladd McConkey, WR, Chargers
Trade Value: 48.2
ROS Rank: 45

Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey saw a heavy workload in Week 7, catching nine of 15 targets for 67 yards in the team's 38-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

He led the team in targets for the second straight week, continuing to earn Herbert's trust on short and intermediate routes, although he didn't score after back-to-back games with a touchdown. In Week 8, the Bolts face a tough Minnesota Vikings secondary allowing just 26.9 PPR points per game to wide receivers.

With a short week and tired legs, McConkey's ceiling might be limited, but his growing role and target share keep him in the FLEX/WR3 consideration for most leagues.

Verdict: Buy if you can get a fair value

Bucky Irving, RB, Buccaneers
Trade Value: 59.7
ROS Rank: 30

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) is progressing in his recovery from both of his injuries, but he may not be quite ready to return just yet, according to head coach Todd Bowles. The Bucs are on a short week before visiting the Saints in New Orleans, before heading into their bye week.

The team will likely be cautious with Irving, who was posting huge numbers before his injury. He had at least 99 rushing and receiving yards in three straight games, but he hasn't been able to play since Week 4.

If Irving misses a fourth straight game, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker would remain the backfield rotation for Tampa, with White taking most of the work as a strong RB2 with RB1 upside in New Orleans. Tucker can be a flex play if you're desperate due to bye weeks, but White should continue to dominate the workload until Irving is ready to return.

Verdict: Top buy-low candidate with RB1 upside when healthy

Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jaguars
Trade Value: 66.8
ROS Rank: 24

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was unable to find much success during Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Thomas was coming off a solid game in Week 6, but wasn't able to carry that momentum with him to London. He hauled in three of his seven targets for 31 yards in the blowout loss. Thomas finished third on the team in targets and really wasn't a factor in the passing game despite the Jags getting blown out.

The Jags have a bye next week, so Thomas will look to bounce back against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.

Verdict: Buy low if you still can, better weeks ahead

George Pickens, WR, Cowboys
Trade Value: 56.6
ROS Rank: 35

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens is having an excellent first season in Dallas, and the Cowboys could be considering an extension for him. "Any and everything about George Pickens has crossed our minds. ... Certainly he's a topic of interest and discussions because of the success he's having," owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan.

The 24-year-old currently has 36 receptions on 54 targets for 607 yards and a career-high six touchdowns through the first seven weeks of the 2025 campaign. Those numbers have been good enough to place Pickens as the No. 4 fantasy wideout in half-PPR scoring.

It helped that fellow wideout CeeDee Lamb missed three games due to a high-ankle sprain, but Pickens was still productive with four catches and 82 yards in Week 7 after Lamb returned. He should continue to remain heavily involved in Dallas' pass-heavy attack along Lamb, making him a weekly must-start in fantasy.

Verdict: Sell-high candidate with CeeDee Lamb healthy and Jake Ferguson hoarding targets

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Ladd McConkey, Bucky Irving, Brian Thomas Jr., George Pickens, Travis Etienne Jr., Drake London. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
