Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that the usage of running backs Nick Chubb and Woody Marks is game-plan dependent and also depends on the flow of the game, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Running backs coach Danny Barrett also has a lot of input on the usage between the two backs.
After playing a season-high 56% of the offensive snaps in last week's win over the Tennessee Titans, Marks dropped down to 39% in the blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Marks' fantasy managers were probably hoping for a lot more against the Ravens' depleted defense, especially in a blowout.
The rookie had seven carries for 24 yards, while Chubb finished with 11 carries for a team-high 61 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Chubb and Marks will continue to move forward in a timeshare and will be RB3/flex plays in fantasy, with Marks offering fantasy managers more upside and big-play ability.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs takes on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and coming off a bye in Week 5, he should rank as a top-five running back for Week 6, as the Bengals have given up the most fantasy points to the running back position so far in 2025.
The Packers' offensive line has been plagued by injuries, missing four starters throughout the first four weeks, which is likely the leading cause of his poor 3.33 YPC so far in 2025. Regardless, he is getting elite RB1 volume, with 80 carries, 10 receptions, and four touchdowns through four games played. Jacobs also does not have much competition in the backfield for touches, which makes him a high-end RB1, especially in good matchups like Week 6.
Additionally, according to sportsbooks, the Packers are 14.5-point favorites, which should bode well for Jacobs to get some additional carries if they are playing from the lead.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) was back at practice on Thursday after suffering an ankle injury during the team's practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell.
Kamara was officially listed on the Wednesday injury report as limited, but it appears he's trending towards being fine for the team's Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots. Kamara has recorded 360 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 90 total touches through five games this season.
If he were to miss any time, Saints running back Kendre Miller would likely dominate backfield touches in New Orleans. Assuming Kamara will be good to go on Sunday, he profiles as a low-end fantasy RB2 in Week 6 against New England. UPDATE: Kamara was limited in practice again on Thursday.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt remains a low-end RB3/flex option ahead of his Week 6 matchup with the Detroit Lions. For the most part, Hunt has played behind backfield mate Isiah Pacheco in terms of snaps.
However, the veteran boasts more carries (43) and yards (164) than Pacheco, and has the team's goal-line role on lockdown. With that said, the 30-year-old's workload has been limited, as he has yet to see more than 14 touches in a single contest. Furthermore, Kansas City has been one of the more pass-happy teams in the league, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes leads the team in rushing (190).
Hunt is a fine start considering his touchdown upside, but he has yet to eclipse 5.7 fantasy points in the appearances he didn't hit pay dirt.
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll had some good words to say about rookie first-round running back Ashton Jeanty after his first five games in the league. "I think Ashton is handling everything beautifully," Carroll said.
The 21-year-old Boise State product was a disappointment for fantasy managers who took him early in drafts through the first three weeks, but then he showcased his game-changing playmaking skills in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears when he ran for 138 yards and a touchdown on a season-high 21 carries.
He has two rushing TDs and has also added two receiving scores, but he only has 12 receptions through five weeks. In the Week 5 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Jeanty had single-game career highs in targets, catches, and receiving yards. It hasn't been perfect early on in the Raiders' struggling offense, but Jeanty's explosiveness is evident, making him a must-start RB1 every week. He could easily bust out again in Week 6 versus the one-win Titans.
