When will Lamar Jackson return and play? Will Lamar Jackson be back again this season? Read the latest Lamar Jackson injury updates and return date for Week 6 (2025).
Only three players have scored over 2,000 fantasy points since the start of the 2019 season: Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson. Jackson is the only player on that prestigious list with fewer than 100 games played, having achieved this feat in just 91 games.
This proves two things: the fact that Jackson is an absolute force of nature when he's on the field, and the fact that he hasn't been as available as most of his peers in the "elite" tier. After two healthy seasons in 2023 and 2024, the injury bug struck Jackson once again in 2025, as he suffered a hamstring injury against the Chiefs in Week 4.
When will Jackson return to action, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he does? Let's dive in.

Lamar Jackson Injury Update
After a 1-2 start, Jackson and the Ravens traveled to Kansas City to take on Mahomes and the Chiefs. Unfortunately for Jackson, the Chiefs jumped out to a 27-10 lead, and just as when Jackson was a few yards away from getting the Ravens back in the game midway through the third quarter, he suffered a hamstring injury after being sacked by George Karlaftis.

Jackson avoided a stint on the Injured Reserve list, but missed his team's humiliating 44-10 loss to the Texans in Week 5. According to some reports, the Ravens are hoping Jackson could return in Week 6 against the Rams. "They're not saying he's out yet for next week," said FOX Sports reporter Jay Glazer.
Additionally, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said there's "theoretically a chance" of Jackson playing in Week 6, but he expects the two-time NFL MVP to return after his team's bye week and play in their Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Lamar Jackson Fantasy Football Outlook
We all know how dominant Jackson is. He had the greatest fantasy football quarterback season of all time last year, recording 434.4 points. He's also a master of racking up wins in the regular season, as he's won 72.4% of his regular-season games in his career.

Jackson's winning percentage gets even more impressive when you realize how hopeless the Ravens have been without him. They have gone 4-10 in 14 games without their star QB since he became their full-time starter. Indeed, they have lost nine out of their last 11 games without Jackson.
Jackson is bound to put up big fantasy numbers when he's on the field, but there are a few concerns. The first (and most important one) is his hamstring. Jackson relies heavily on his speed and athleticism, and his production might suffer for a while until he gets back to 100%.
The second big concern is the Ravens' current injury crisis. They look unrecognizable compared to their 2024 team and have been decimated by many injuries to their starters.
If their other stars can't recover in time to help the team get some much-needed wins, Jackson might get shut down for the rest of the season.
The good news is that the Ravens' schedule following their bye week looks very winnable. If Jackson and the team's other injured stars can return to full health after the bye, he can become one of the most valuable players in the fantasy playoffs once again.
