When is Dylan Crews getting called up? Will Dylan Crews play in July of this MLB season? Read about Dylan Crews’ debut date and fantasy baseball prospect updates for 2024.
The Washington Nationals drafted Dylan Crews in the 2023 MLB Draft and he's quickly moved through the system. The Nationals' second-ranked prospect started 2023 in rookie ball and made it to Double-A by season's end.
The right-handed hitter began this season at Double-A and is now hitting -- and hitting well -- at Triple-A, making a case to join fellow top prospect James Wood in D.C.
So could we see another three-level jump in 2024 from Double-A to the bigs? Let's discuss the prospect and when we might see him in the nation's capital.
Dylan Crews Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
Dylan Crews began the season at Double-A and after 51 games with a .274/.343/.446 slash line, including five home runs and 15 stolen bases, the Nats decided it was time to move him up a level. So far at Triple-A, it has been a lot of the same, with a .271/.295/.441 slash line that includes two home runs and three stolen bases.

The OBP has not been as good at Triple-A, pretty much due to the fact that he has a BB% of 3.3% versus a 7.6% rate at Double-A. While the walk rate is a bit disappointing, the 22-year-old's strikeout rate has gone from 23.7% at Double-A down to 18.0% at Triple-A, a marked improvement despite the small sample size.
Dylan Crews Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
There is undoubtedly an adjustment period when going from Triple-A to the big leagues. Even after the Brewers decided to give Jackson Chourio a large contract before the season began and being touted as a Ronald Acuna Jr.-type talent, we saw him scuffle the first two months of the season before hitting .315 in June. Crews may not help managers right out of the gate but has the power and speed to make an impact late in the season, come fantasy playoffs.
Eric Cross' Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash has the former second-overall draft pick making the majors by August. Collecting at least one hit in 16 of his last 18 games, including a 10-game hit streak, could solidify his fast track to the big leagues should he continue to hit. Crews is available in 90% of Yahoo leagues for managers interested in stashing him ahead of time.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: Unlike many players currently in the minor leagues, Chandler Simpson has proven he can be a valuable fantasy player at the MLB level. In his time in the majors, he hit .285 with 19 stolen bases in 35 games. Unfortunately, being a valuable fantasy player […]

Brady House - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help […]

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Samuel Basallo might be the best hitter in the minors right now, and he has catcher eligibility. What more do you need to know (I know catcher is super deep this year, but still)? Basallo has been an age-to-level monster for the majority of his pro […]

Andrew Painter - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Painter's last two starts don't give a ton of confidence that he is ready to be in the majors. It may not even be before the All-Star break before we see him, but that does not mean we are in stash territory. The good news is, […]

Colby Thomas - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: The A's continue to lose, and Colby Thomas continues to hit homers in Triple-A. The A's just got swept by the Angels, bringing their record to 26-44. While plays like Denzel Clarke's HR robbery can generate a spark for a team, the A's might need […]
