Kacey Kasem looks at all 2025 fantasy football Week 9 kickers -- streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 9 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.
Back at it again with our fantasy football kicker streamers, rankings, and starts for Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season. You're probably frustrated with these brutal bye weeks. Putting together decent lineups when half of your roster is on bye (and the other half is injured) can feel like a struggle at this point in the season.
The good news, at least when it comes to your kicker spot, is that there is an abundance of great kickers hanging out on waivers. Guys who have been quietly posting top-10 numbers all season are unclaimed, so you're in the perfect spot to snatch one of them up.
This week, let's focus on the steady legs in stable situations. There is plenty of kicker talent floating around; you just need to figure out who to roster. Let's examine some of the best streamers you can scoop up for Week 9 and the ones best left on the bench.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 9
Only kickers rostered in fewer than 60% of fantasy football leagues are considered streamers.
Evan McPherson (CIN) vs. Chicago Bears
55% Rostered
Even with the Bengals not playing their best football, McPherson continues to be one of their most reliable stars.
He was perfect in Week 8, knocking in his only field goal attempt while connecting on all five of his extra point tries in the 39-38 loss to the Jets. It was a wild ride, with Cincy building a big lead only to see it slip away. Still, McPherson saw plenty of scoring chances in that one.

— Cincinnati Bengals (@Bengals) October 17, 2025
He's been near-perfect on the season, outside the one hiccup against Green Bay in Week 6, where he missed two FGs. This season, he's hit on 11-of-13 field goals and is 19-for-19 on extra points.
Now he takes on the Bears, a matchup that could become another shootout. Both teams are capable of putting up points, ultimately making McPherson one of the safest plays from waivers. If you need a guy who can connect on a long-range try with as much ease as a 26-yarder, McPherson is the kicker for you. He's a stable, streamworthy option during a chaotic bye week.
Ka'imi Fairbairn (HOU) vs. Denver Broncos
43% Rostered
A kicker who doesn't get enough love is Fairbairn of the Texans, who just dropped 14 points in Week 8. He went 4-for-4 on field goals while adding two extra points in Houston's 26-15 victory over the 49ers.
Fairbairn has not missed in the last three contests and is 17-for-19 on field goals and perfect 12-for-12 on point after attempts. It's hard to find that kind of consistency, so when you do, you have to pounce.

Houston has already had their bye, making their kicker an even more appealing option. The Texans take on Denver this week, and although the Broncos have been decent against opposing kickers, they haven't been locking them down either.
Fairbairn's leg gives him upside from long range, but he also sees a steady stream of mid-distance chances. He's an ideal weekly play, so roster him now and get a top-10 kicker for free.
Chad Ryland (ARI) at Dallas Cowboys
2% Rostered
In need of a sneaky waiver wire gem that's barely rostered? Ryland has quietly been sitting as the K12 overall this season.
Before Arizona's bye, he tallied 12 points against the Packers, connecting on all three field goals and both extra points. That performance was his fifth double-digit outing in seven games, and yet it feels as if no one is paying attention to the kicker.

— Arizona Cardinals (@AZCardinals) October 19, 2025
He's facing Dallas indoors in Week 9, exactly what you want when streaming a kicker. Dallas can bend just enough on defense to keep drives to field goal attempts. Ryland should be busy yet again this week, especially with his team not being automatic in the red zone.
On the season, Ryland is 13-of-15 on field goals and perfect on extra point tries. If you're trying to find a one-week replacement that could turn into a long-term piece, he's that guy.
Kickers to Avoid for Week 9
Brandon McManus (GB) vs. Carolina Panthers
10% Rostered
McManus returned from injury in Week 8 and looked fine, just a bit out of practice.
He went 2-for-4 on field goals and connected on all three extra points in Green Bay's win over Pittsburgh. His missed kicks came from 57 and 44 yards out. After missing two contests with a quad injury, it's not surprising he had issues.

— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) October 27, 2025
This week, he faces Carolina, a team that doesn't allow many field goals. The Panthers have given up the tenth-fewest fantasy points to kickers this year, and they have yet to give up a 50-yarder.
McManus should see only a few quality attempts in this contest. In this one, expect more PATs than field goals. Given McManus' recent struggles, it's a week you'd be best off avoiding him.
Matt Gay (WAS) vs. Seattle Seahawks
34% Rostered
Currently, Gay's situation is just messy. He entered Week 8 with a questionable tag due to a back injury, and was downgraded to out for the Monday night contest.
Even when healthy, Gay hasn't been particularly sharp, missing four of his 14 field goal attempts. And keep in mind, back injuries can linger for kickers, so this should be monitored.
We have made the following roster moves:
- Signed K Matthew Wright to the practice squad
- Released WR Robbie Chosen from the practice squad
- Elevated DT Sheldon Day and K Matthew Wright from the practice squadK Matt Gay (back) has been downgraded to OUT for tonight's game pic.twitter.com/aTIHKKfgmo
— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) October 27, 2025
Washington has Marcus Mariota under center at the moment, and the scoring chances haven't show up. Now, the Commanders take on Seattle in Week 9, a defense that isn't doing fantasy kickers any favors. They have allowed the eighth-fewest points to the position this season, keeping opponents from settling for field goals.
The Commanders didn't even have a replacement for Gay until Monday (signing Matthew Wright), and it's just not the time to trust their kicking game. This is a week you can do way better by grabbing someone off waivers.
Cam Little (JAC) at Las Vegas Raiders
19% Rostered
Remember when Little showed out in the preseason by connecting on a 70-yard field goal? Well, his 2025 season has gone from promising to frustrating real quick.
He's missed at least one kick in three of his last four contests, and he has not seen a double-digit outing since Week 3. Before Jacksonville's bye, he was just 10-for-14 on field goals and had missed on one of his 15 extra point attempts. The Jaguars insist they're still confident in the kicker, but fantasy managers shouldn't share that sentiment.
Liam Coen says the #Jaguars are not bringing in another kicker. Had a great talk with Cam Little today.
"He's not going anywhere"#Jaguars | #DUUUVAL
— Mia O'Brien (@MiaOBrienTV) October 20, 2025
He's got a nice leg, but his accuracy is too shaky. The matchup with the Raiders isn't a horrible one, and Little benefits from playing indoors. The Jaguars' offense just isn't doing the kicker any favors. They'll score touchdowns or stall out completely, which limits Little's kicking opportunities. Oh, and they're the most penalized roster in the league at 9.3 accepted penalties per contest.
There's no reason to take a risk on him this week with other options at your fingertips. Save yourself the headache and grab a steadier option at kicker.
