BALLER MOVE: Start at K in 12-14 Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: K1
ANALYSIS: Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass has consistently been regarded as one of the league's best kickers in real life and in fantasy football. Bass made over 50 extra points in each of his first three seasons in the league. But this season, Bass's extra-point opportunities have decreased slightly, while his field goal accuracy is also down. Is Bass still a must-start kicker?
A kicker's success in fantasy football is most correlated with the success of their offense. The more often an offense gets close to the end zone, the more attempts their kicker will get at both field goals and extra points. Buffalo's offensive production is slightly down from last season, in which the Bills ranked third in total scoring, to this season, in which the Bills rank sixth. Still, the Buffalo offense is one of the best for a fantasy kicker to be tied to.
Moreover, Bass is facing the poor quality Los Angeles Chargers defense this week. The Chargers allow an average of 375.3 yards per game and 24.6 points per game. The only downside for Bass is that most of that scoring has come from touchdowns, not field goals. The Chargers have only allowed 1.4 field goals per game, the fifth-fewest in the league. Still, Tyler Bass should rank as a low-end K1. There is a lot of luck involved in predicting kicker results for fantasy football, so you should stick with him if you have him.
