ANALYSIS: Quality relievers are hard to come by this late in the season but Tom Wilhelmsen finds himself in a pretty good spot for fantasy owners to take advantage.
Any chance Wilhelmsen has gotten a chance to close with any consistency he has thrived. In the past month Wilhelmsen has converted all of his 10 SV opportunities and racked up 10 K in 12.2 IP with a .79 WHIP and a 0.00 ERA. He also only issued 2 BB during that time as well. The Mariners have not been known to win a ton of close games this season but Wilhelmsen has made sure that when they find themselves in a close game the team wins.
Wilhelmsen has lowered his ERA to 3.14 and an FIP of 3.27 from his disastrous start. The Mariners had given several other contenders a chance to be the closer during 2015. But now that they have tabbed Wilhelmsen with the job he has shown that he is definitively the option for the rest of this year and should be the favorite for 2016.
He is a must add and can help any fantasy team win multiple pitching categories and help advance to the next round of the playoffs.
