NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/26/22

The trade deadline is over and we have seen at least a game or two for most teams that made big splashes. Now we are in the journey to the cup phase and every single point is even more crucial than the last. Teams will play a more bunker style or completely free-flowing game which can make or break slates if you don’t have the highest-scoring teams. I will do my best in guiding you through this nine-game slate on DraftKings at 7:00 p.m. EST respectively.

There are a few teams playing on the second-half of a back-to-back: Washington, Columbus and Calgary. The Canadiens and their league-worst 3.72 GA will host the Austin Matthews and the Maple Leafs, while the Panthers and their league-best 4.01 GF will attempt to hunt down the Senators when they travel to their territory.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury- DK $8.3K || FD $8.2K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Pick your poison tonight for the netminder. You have Sergei Bobrovsky $8.5K on DraftKings and $ on FanDuel, Erik Kallgren $8.4K on DraftKings and $ on FanDuel and you have the "Flower". The reason Fleury is being highlighted over the rest is because he is playing at home in his new arena in front of the home crowd for the first time, as well as Columbus traveling on the second-half of a back-to-back. The Blue Jackets are still struggling and all Minnesota needs to be a true contender is a goalie. Well, now they have it and it is time to see what they can do.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Bobrovsky(DK $8.5K || FD $8.8K), Kallgren(DK $8.4K || FD $8.6K, Petersen(DK $8.2K || FD $7.8K), Husso(DK $7.6K || FD $8.1K), Daws(DK $7.3K || FD $6.9K)

NHL DFS Centers

Austin Matthews-DK $9.4K || FD $10.2K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

The man is on fire and there is no doubting it. Matthews has six goals, two assists and 26.0 shots over his last five games. That is also including a hat trick during that time frame. Now he gets to play one of the worst defenses in the league who average 3.72 goals against per game. There are a few relatively good options at center on the slate, but paying all the way up could benefit greatly.

Frederick Gaudreau- DK $3.8K || FD $5.1K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

This second-line pivot could go a long way in lineups tonight if he pulls through…keyword "if". Gaudreau has not been playing very well lately, albeit his line still producing goals. In his last five games, he has one goal, one assist and seven shots. As mentioned above, Columbus played last night too and they will have tired bodies occupying sweaters in this matchup. This is a perfect punt play to save some salary.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): McDavid(DK $9.2K || FD $10.1K), Barkov(DK $8.8K || FD $9.3K), Kopitar(DK $6K || FD $6.2K), Horvat(DK $5.2K || FD $6.8K), Hischier(DK $4.5K || FD $6.6K), Backstrom(DK $3.9K || FD $5K)

NHL DFS Wings

Claude Giroux- DK $5.1K || FD $6.1K

Opponent - Ottawa Senators

Giroux posted elite numbers with the Flyers again this season and he continued to do that in his first game as a Panther. He posted two assists and four shots on the top-line with pivot Alexander Barkov. This duo could prove deadly as the journey to the playoffs gets hotter and they will have yet another soft matchup against the Senators tonight. The ex-Flyer will be very high-owned but you will need him if you want to ship a GPP.

Kailer Yamamoto- DK $4.3K || FD $5K

Opponent - Calgary Flames

The kid is on fire and is there any stopping him? I think it is time to fight fire with fire and unleash McDavid’s new sidekick against Dan Vladar who is expected to start in the Battle of Alberta. Yamamoto was thought to be lost playing on the second-line this season, but he turns out to be a better fit with McDavid than his teammate Jesse Puljujarvi. In Yam’s last five games, he has four goals, three assists and nine shots. This matchup should be high-flying with a plethora of goals and he will have every chance to make his mark.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Marner(DK $7.5K || FD $8.8K), Huberdeau(DK $7.2K || FD $9K), Kyrou(DK $6.2K || FD $6K), Nylander(DK $6.1K || FD $7.6K), Zuccarello(DK $5.7K || FD $7.1K), Kempe(DK $5.3K || FD $5.8K), Terry(DK $3.9K || FD $6K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Mark Giordano- DK $3.9K || FD $5.2K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Giordano did not have a great debut for the Leafs, however, he is now playing against the league’s worst defense. In Gio’s first game, he left with two blocked shots and nothing more. To be honest it was more surprising than anything and it is rare you find a game where he does not take a shot. Luckily, thanks to his poor performance now we get him on a much lower salary that we can use to pay up elsewhere, but also still get ownership of the prime matchup.

Dougie Hamilton- DK $6.1K || FD $6.2K

Opponent - Washington Capitals

This will be one of the fastest-paced matchups on the slate and one of the best ways to attack the game is by taking a peripheral player. Hamilton will offer the best of both worlds with his solid two-way game, taking both shots and also blocking shots. He also has three assists, 11.0 shots and 12.0 blocked shots over his last five appearances. The most absurd part of it all though is he is not the highest-salaried defender on the slate and we will run away with that as well. If you want safety in your lineup, Hamilton will be your best option to pick from the pool of defensemen on the slate.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): DeAngelo(DK $5.7K || FD $6.1K), Karlsson(DK $5.2K || FD $5.6K), Klingberg(DK $5K || FD $5.5K), Spurgeon(DK $4.4K || FD $5.2K), Shattenkirk(DK $3.7K || FD $5.1K), Dunn(DK $3.4K || FD $4.4K)
