Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Addison had an excellent college career, playing two years for the Pittsburgh Panthers and one season for the USC Trojans.

The former Panther had 160 receptions for 2,259 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. He also had 16 rushing attempts for 114 yards and a touchdown during his two years at Pittsburgh. More importantly, Addison had an impressive 2021 season, totaling 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.

After two years with Pittsburgh, the star receiver transferred to USC. Unfortunately, he struggled with injuries in 2022. However, Addison still had 59 receptions for 875 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games at USC.

Jordan Addison Fantasy Football Outlook

Following an impressive college career, the former Pittsburgh and USC star was the first wide receiver drafted in the first round by the Vikings since Justin Jefferson in 2020. While he isn’t having the rookie season Jefferson had a few years ago, Addison has been impressive.

The former Pittsburgh and USC star has 22 receptions on 34 targets for 277 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He is the WR35 for the year, averaging 10.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, Addison has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but two games this season.

According to the RotoBaller weekly rankings, Addison is the WR27 and in the fifth tier. He is a starting caliber wide receiver this week but not a must-start option.

Unfortunately, Minnesota lost Jefferson for four or more weeks because of a hamstring injury in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Last week, Addison took over as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver against the Chicago Bears and had a solid performance.

The rookie receiver had three receptions on five targets for 28 receiving yards and a touchdown, scoring 10.3 fantasy points in the win over the division rivals.

Despite taking over as the No. 1 wide receiver last week, Addison is not a must-start moving forward. Furthermore, he has an average matchup tonight against the San Francisco 49ers. They have surrendered 26.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, around the league average.
