Week 13 of the NFL season has arrived, and we have a beautiful Thanksgiving slate. Thursday kicks off with a pivotal NFC North matchup between the Packers and Lions.
Figuring out which Packers' wide receiver to trust in fantasy has been tricky at times this season. In this article, we'll evaluate whether fantasy managers should start Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson, and we'll also break down David Montgomery's Week 13 outlook.

Should I Start Romeo Doubs for Fantasy Football?
Doubs has been the Packers' most consistent pass catcher this season, but hasn't been quite as productive of late. Since posting a season high seven receptions for 91 yards on 10 targets in Week 9, the 25-year-old has just seven catches (15 targets) for 81 yards in the past three weeks. It's worth noting that he left early in Green Bay's Week 10 loss to the Eagles.
However, after leading Green Bay's receivers in route share every game up until that point, he's dipped in the past two weeks. Doubs posted a lower route share (66.7%) than Dontayvion Wicks (79.2%) in Week 12 for the first time all season, with Watson operating as the lead option for the past three games.
It's a favorable matchup for the Green Bay passing attack to have a productive day. Detroit has allowed the seventh most PPR points per game to opposing wideouts, but Doubs' reduced usage recently, and the possible returns of Jayden Reed (foot, collarbone) and Matthew Golden (wrist), make him a risky start. He profiles more as a WR3/FLEX and may be better left on the bench if managers have alternative options.
Should I Start Christian Watson for Fantasy Football?
Watson looks like the WR1 in Green Bay. He has led the team with 16 targets over the past three games, recording 11 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. The 26-year-old looks healthy and dynamic after missing the first seven weeks of the season due to a torn ACL suffered in Week 18 last season.
While Jordan Love only had 23 dropbacks in Week 12, he looked in Watson's direction often. Watson's 33% targets per route run against the Vikings is the third-highest mark by a Packers' pass catcher in a game this season. His usage looks very promising, and he could be in line to feast on Thanksgiving against the Lions.

This matchup projects as one of the fastest-paced games of the week and has the third-highest total. And Watson has had a few big games at Detroit over the past two seasons, recording four catches for 114 yards on seven targets in Week 14 last season, and then posting five catches (seven targets) for 94 yards and a touchdown on Thanksgiving of the 2023 season. Fire Watson up as a high-upside WR3 in Week 13.
Should I Start David Montgomery for Fantasy Football?
The split between Montgomery and star RB Jahmyr Gibbs has widened over the past few weeks, and rightfully so. Montgomery is a solid back, but Gibbs needs as many touches as he can handle with his game-breaking ability. After having less than 10 touches in just two of the first nine games, the former Chicago Bear has been below that mark in each of the past two games.
Montgomery has been one of the most reliable touchdown scorers in his time with the Lions, but he hasn't found the end zone since Week 9 against the Vikings, which is his longest drought without a touchdown since joining Detroit in 2023. The 28-year-old could be due for a short score, and he did find the end zone the last time the Lions faced the Packers on Thanksgiving in 2023.

Montgomery has always been somewhat touchdown-dependent due to limited receiving value and a lack of big play upside, but even more so in Week 13 against Green Bay. The Packers are allowing just 3.9 yards per carry this season, seventh best in the league, but have also allowed the seventh most rushing touchdowns inside the five-yard line (eight), per Fantasy Points Data Suite. Montgomery ranks as RotoBaller's RB33 in PPR leagues for Week 13.
