Yusei Kikuchi Touched Up For Six Runs By Angels
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi wasn't at his best in Thursday's matchup versus the Los Angeles Angels. The lefty gave up six runs on 10 hits as he labored through 3.1 innings of work dropping his record to 3-3 on the season. Kikuchi issued two free passes and failed to strikeout a batter marking his second-straight start where he was unable to make it through four full innings. He strung together four terrific outings before these last two debacles, so hopefully, it's just a temporary cold streak for the rookie. On the year, Kikuchi holds an underwhelming 4.43 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 50 punchouts in 67.0 IP. Owners should remain patient with the 27-year-old although it doesn't get much easier for him in next week's matchup against the Astros.
