Washington Signs Dustin Hopkins To One-Year Deal
4 years agoThe Washington Football Team signed kicker Dustin Hopkins to a one-year veteran qualifying contract worth $2.4625 million on Monday. The deal includes $1.8875 million fully guaranteed. Hopkins has been in D.C. since 2015, when he replace Kai Forbath early that season. He has made 83.9 percent of his 180 career field-goal attempts in six seasons with Washington, also making 169 of 178 extra-point tries (94.9 percent). The 30-year-old missed seven field goals and two extra points in 2020. Hopkins signed a three-year contract extension worth $7.45 million in 2018, but this short-term deal won't prevent the team from bringing in another kicker to create some competition this summer.
