Tyler Locklear Traded to Arizona
Tyler Locklear from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for third baseman Eugenio Suarez. In this package, the Mariners are also acquiring right-handed prospect pitchers Hunter Cranton and Juan Burgos. Locklear was considered the No. 9-ranked prospect in the Seattle system before the trade and is viewed as the headliner piece in the deal. The first baseman was actually en route to join Seattle on Wednesday, but was then traded shortly after. Locklear made his MLB debut in the 2024 season but only appeared in 16 games. This season, the VCU product has spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Tacoma, and has been one of the top hitters at the level, holding a .316/.401/.542 slash line with 25 doubles and 19 home runs. Fantasy managers should monitor his status as he could be given an extended look at the major leagues during the final months of the season.
