The Cincinnati Reds have promoted infield prospect Tyler Callihan to the major league roster. Callihan will also get the starting nod during the first half of their doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals. Callihan is slated to bat in the nine-hole and cover the keystone. The former third-round pick has enjoyed an impressive start to the Triple-A regular season and is being rewarded with an early MLB debut. Through 24 games, Callihan has posted a strong .303/.410/.528 slash line with four doubles, four home runs, and six stolen bases. The 24-year-old needed just 30 career games at the Triple-A level to prove he was ready for the big leagues. Fantasy managers should monitor his production as he could find a short-term role in the big leagues with Jeimer Candelario (spine), who hit the 10-day injured list on Wednesday.
