Trent Grisham Injures His Hamstring Thursday
4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham (hamstring) left the Cactus League game against Cleveland on Thursday with "a slight strain in his hamstring," according to manager Jayce Tingler. Grisham will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine the extent of the injury. Tingler said Grisham has dealt with minor hamstring issues in the past and that Grisham is optimistic the injury won't linger. The 24-year-old slashed .251/.352/.456 while playing Gold Glove defense as a table-setter in 2020, and the Friars don't want to lose him for any stretch of time with Brian O'Grady and Jorge Mateo being the backup center field options. If Grisham were to miss considerable time, utility man Jurickson Profar could be the best option to replace him. He's already seen repetitions in center field this spring, including after Grisham left the game.
