Tim Anderson Not Playing Tuesday
1 year agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (forearm) is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting New York Yankees. Elvis Andrus will take his place at the 6 and will hit leadoff for the White Sox against Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt. Anderson, who is appealing a six-game suspension for his involvement in a brawl against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday, was hit by a pitch on his left forearm in Monday's game against the Yankees. The 30-year-old is considered day-to-day for now after X-rays came back negative for anything serious. After making the All-Star team in 2021 and 2022, Anderson has fallen on hard times in 2023. He's currently hitting .242/.285/.290 with just one home run, 19 RBI, 11 steals and 38 runs scored in 88 games for Chicago. He's been one of the biggest fantasy busts of the year.
