Tigers Acquire Codi Heuer From Rangers
Codi Heuer from the Texas Rangers on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. It's a minor deal near the deadline this year that won't move the needle at all in fantasy. The 29-year-old Heuer was originally a sixth-round selection by the Chicago White Sox in 2018 out of Wichita State. He has two previous years of MLB experience with the White Sox and Chicago Cubs, and he appeared in one game out of Texas' bullpen this year, allowing an earned run on a solo homer while striking out one. Heuer was sent down to Triple-A Round Rock in early June and posted a 3.63 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and only four walks in 17 1/3 innings. He will give the first-place Tigers some bullpen depth but will start his tenure with the team at Triple-A Toledo.
