Slade Cecconi to Start on Saturday Against Angels
Slade Cecconi (groin) listed as their probable start for Saturday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels. Cecconi was scratched from his scheduled outing on Wednesday in the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and now he'll get a much more favorable matchup this weekend in what will be just his third start of the season. The 25-year-old former first-rounder (33rd overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2020 out of Miami opened the season on the injured list with an oblique strain, but he's now a member of Cleveland's starting rotation and has been solid so far with a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14 punchouts in 11 innings pitched. The Angels rank 17th in the league with a .693 OPS, making Cecconi a prime streaming candidate despite his recent groin injury that wasn't very serious.
