Slade Caldwell Swipes Three Bags on Tuesday
Slade Caldwell went 1-for-3 with two walks and three stolen bases on Tuesday for High-A Hillsboro. The D-backs' second-ranked prospect collected two hits in his first game at High-A, but has gone 3-for-19 (.158) in the six games since. However, the good news is that he's still getting on base via the walk, drawing six free passes over that stretch, too. The 19-year-old doesn't appear to be overmatched either, striking out just three times in his 32 plate appearances (9.4 percent) for the Hops. The 2024 first-rounder is young and getting his first taste of professional baseball this season, but could make a run for another promotion later this year if he can continue to produce, although it could be a while until we see him in the majors.
