Shohei Ohtani Scratched From Monday's Lineup
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (oblique, elbow) was scratched from Monday's starting lineup against the Seattle Mariners. Mike Moustakas is now serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. It looked like the 29-year-old two-way superstar was going to return to action for the first time in a week due to a tight right oblique, but instead he'll miss yet another game to begin the week. The Japanese All-Star should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups whenever he does return, as he's still leading the league in home runs (44), triples (eight), on-base percentage (.412), slugging percentage (.654), OPS (1.066) and total bases (325) in 599 plate appearances as a hitter in 2023.
