Shane Smith Registers Eight Strikeouts
Shane Smith had his swing-and-miss stuff working for him during Thursday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander gave up a two-run blast to Randy Arozarena, but was solid outside of that. He tossed five innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out a career-high eight batters in the no-decision. The 25-year-old has been one of the few bright spots for this White Sox rotation this season. He'll take a 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 93/42 K/BB ratio across 20 starts into his next outing against the Detroit Tigers. He'll offer some deep league streaming appeal for that one.
