Setback For Nathan Eovaldi Not Viewed As Long-Term
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi's (elbow) latest setback is not viewed as anything serious, according to Red Sox manager Alex Cora. "No. Unfortunately, it’s longer than we’d like. The longer he’s out, the longer it takes to build back. But no, not long term." Eovaldi, who has been out since April 17, was supposed to begin a rehab assignment after throwing a simulated game on June 4, but biceps soreness has delayed that for now. There is no concrete timetable for his return just yet, but the end of June or early July looks likely at this stage. His health is always a factor, but if he can post numbers anywhere similar to last season and avoid the injured list, he will be a valuable asset for the rest of the season in most fantasy formats.
