Seiya Suzuki To Take Batting Practice Friday
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (neck) will take batting practice on the field on Friday. Suzuki will miss his third straight game on Friday as the team takes on the Cleveland Guardians, but he's feeling good enough to take batting practice and should be able to return to the lineup before the weekend is over as long as his hitting session on Friday goes well. Mike Tauchman will get another start in right field with Suzuki out, and he'll hit leadoff once again on Friday against Guardians right-hander Cal Quantrill. The 28-year-old Suzuki is a regular in the outfield for the Cubbies when healthy, and he's currently hitting .253 (58-for-229) with six home runs, 13 doubles, a triple, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored in 62 games in his second MLB campaign.
