Seiya Suzuki Resting Against Brewers
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki is getting a breather on Monday against the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers. Suzuki had missed three games at the end of last week due to a neck injury, but he returned for the final two games of the weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians. The Cubs are just giving him a little more rest after returning on Saturday and Sunday. The 28-year-old Japanese outfielder has gone hitless in 20 at-bats over his last five games to drop his season line to .246/.335/.386 with six home runs, 13 doubles, a triple, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored in 272 trips to the plate over 64 games. Suzuki should be back in the lineup on Tuesday. In his absence on Monday, Mike Tauchman is starting in right field and batting leadoff against Brewers right-hander Julio Teheran.
