Ryan Gusto Starting for the Astros on Friday
Ryan Gusto will start Friday's game against the Athletics, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. With Lance McCullers (blister) landing on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, the Astros needed someone to step into the rotation, and it appears the Astros will go with Gusto, who has made 22 appearances on the season and 12 starts. For the season, Gusto sports a 4.46 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and a 77/26 K/BB ratio across 77 2/3 innings pitched. Fantasy managers chasing points or quality starts could take a chance with Gusto on Friday, but he is not considered a great streaming option for the long haul. The Athletics' offense has been generally better against right-handed pitchers of late and ranks 17th in the Majors in runs scored.
