Rockies Looking At Jurickson Profar
2 years agoWith injuries to Colorado Rockies outfielders Sean Bouchard (biceps) and Randal Grichuk (hernia) this spring, the Rockies are showing renewed interest in signing free-agent outfielder/infielder Jurickson Profar, according to a source. Charlie Blackmon (back) was also injured in Friday's Cactus League game. The 30-year-old switch-hitter slashed .243/.331/.391 with 15 home runs in 152 games for the San Diego Padres last year, and he is currently playing for Team Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic. Profar has likely been demanding regular playing time as a free agent this offseason, and that's something Colorado could give him as they look for injury replacements. His defensive shortcomings hurt his cause, but he's patient at the plate and makes plenty of contact. Profar would become attractive in deep mixed leagues if he landed with the Rockies with regular playing time.
