Riley Greene Could Return Sunday
1 year agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (elbow) jammed his right elbow on a diving catch in the fifth inning in Friday night's game against the Chicago White Sox and was removed as a precaution. Greene is considered day-to-day. He won't play on Saturday but could return on Sunday. "Things are pointing in a positive direction," manager A.J. Hinch said. It appears the 22-year-old dodged a bullet with this injury and he should be back to close out the series in Chicago. In just his second major-league season, Greene is hitting a strong .288/.349/.447 with 11 home runs, 19 doubles, four triples, 37 RBI, seven stolen bases and 51 runs scored in 99 games as Detroit's regular center fielder.
