Texas Rangers third baseman/outfielder Renato Nunez was designated for assignment Friday. The move was a result of Rougned Odor being activated from the disabled list. Nunez, who was claimed by the Rangers earlier this season, has struggled in a Texas uniform. In 41 plate appearances, he has hit just one home run and has a .167 average. His form so far has seen him fall below Ryan Rua in the pecking order, who will remain with the Rangers in a utility role. Nunez had very little fantasy value in any format anyway, but today's news means he can be dropped in all re-draft leagues.--Ben Rolfe
